Play the Heavy Rain demo now (EU PSN account required).
http://kotaku.com/5464839/want-the-h...-now-heres-how
It works, Kotaku broke the site but its back up now, you need an EU PSN account though, they're fairly easy to make so don't worry.
If you need to know, all you need is a UK postal address (look up a store online) and an email address, doesn't need to be EU-specific.Great quotes on the internet:

This is the type of game that I think the demo will lessen the overall experience for a lot of people who end up buying the game.
It's kind of like watching a 20 minute clip from a movie you're about to go see in the theaters.
But for those who are undecided about buying the game, they should definitely play it.

I just played it and... wow, I cannot wait til the end of the month.
Clearly the game isn't for everyone but, those who want it will "get it", the stuff it does with the controls is pretty cool, and it uses SIXAXIS better than anything. The graphics and the voice acting is hit or miss, there are times where it looks amazing (lip movements are dead on) sometimes it looks above-average at best (but the eyes are fucking dead-pan on some characters) likewise for the voices, some characterts sound great, others its like "did you get someone off the street?" and some of them have a funny accent, reminds me of a French Canadian trying to do Ennglish.
Regardless, that demo sold me on it.
Oh and, as for anyone who wants a comparison on gameplay to something else... the closest thing is Indigo Prophecy, but even then... they're a ways off. It's very unique in a lot of ways.Great quotes on the internet:

Just played the whole demo.
There is going to be a huge uproar about the controls of this game. The biggest complaint will be "why can't I just hit a button to open a door or speak to someone instead of moving the right stick?" I find the controls perfect for this type of game though.
The story and character development seems like its going to be outstanding. It also seems like each "detective" will have there own strengths and weaknesses. The graphics are great and so is the sound (the game starts up with some sweet rain drop surround sound). Options are the games biggest strengths. The ability to make certain choices and to take certain opportunities keep you on edge.
I am purchasing this game for sure.

It's a detective game... very specific adventure basically. It's not unlike Shenmue based on the demo, but with some unorthodox controls. You'll get prompts that are button combinations or more often a right stick movement of the sort (example: left, then diagonally go up from there).
The demo had a fight scene, which was purely QTE-based. You can move by pressing and holding R2 then using the left stick for directions.
All in all, it's an acquired taste so be sure to check out the US demo next week. I liked it but it didn't exactly wow me. I am getting a good deal on it, so I think I'll give it a go on day one. -

Just finished. The controls were odd at first, but I got used to them quick. Graphics are mainly incredible.
The voice acting was good in my opinion.
Now, I'm going to go re pre-order. It's going to be a great game.Currently Playing: Chrono Trigger, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Max Payne 3, Legend of Dragoon, Tomb Raider Anniversary HD

How does one re pre-order? You went into the store and fully paid it off, or you canceled your pre-order because of doubts and then changed your mind and put it back in?
Oh, and I caved and tried it out. Yup, it's Indigo Prophecy, but a more evolved, polished version of the interface. Still, the game feels just like it, but with super shiny bells and whistles. -

Yeah, I had it pre-ordered, then canceled it after I was banned from Blu-ray.com because of it, then I played it and downloaded the demo. After the demo I pre-ordered it again.
