PS3 backup question

I did a full backup on my now-dead fat PS3, which included lots of PS1 and PS3 games as well as installs. I did a restore on my new slim unit and seems that all that was restored were saves, and account tabs. No email addresses, passwords, PS1 saves, installs.. nothing.

Am I missing something here or does the full backup only work if you're trying to restore data on the original console?

EDIT: I got my answer. Guess I'm out of luck and will have to re-download EVERY SINGLE damn game.
