please, can someone just tell me it gets better? lol
dude, believe us, you haven't seen anything yet, it gets a lot better

i'd recommend playing the first one though, the stories are independent of each other and stand alone pretty well but you'll miss a few things if you haven't played the first

while not a must, i'd recommend it and so would most others

it's pretty much an agreed upon fact that the first couple missions aren't that fantastic

but levels 4 - 26 are pretty awesome

if you're looking for ps3 exclusives checkout slayerfaith1982's thread, he just got a ps3 so he's in the same boat as you

IMO, the first game starts out much better than the second one does.

Besides the minigames, and there are a bunch that are free - some people supposedly like the Poker.

I'm not a huge Home fan, but then again, I don't have Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter accounts either.

Edit: And to echo other posters comments, Home isn't the reason to be happy with your PS3 purchase, the (now) sizeable lineup of exclusives and Blu-ray capability are the main ones (though not only ones) IMHO.

It's a good streaming box too.

I'll agree HOME is pretty lame. I don't know if it's PSN or the wifi in the PS3 or what, but all the avatars of everyone loaded slow as hell. I mean seriously it'd be 60-90 seconds of just looking at ghost outlines of people before they started to fill-in with avatars 1 at a time lol

but I also must agree that to ask someone "does the game get better after the first 5 minutes?" is a pretty silly question. What game in the history of the universe has shown all it has to show within the first 5 minutes of the game? I mean seriously I've played awful trial Arcade games longer than that, and they even improve after 5 minutes (maybe not by much but still.)

This thread seems a lil flame-baity w/ some of the comments the OP has made as well. I suggest if this line of debate continues for it to be moved to the smackdown room

seems to me that mattman just has a negative personality. i mean home is just a virtual chatroom with mini games. its not great but its different. and youre knocking uncharted 2 after 5-10 minutes of gameplay? and then you question buying your ps3 was a good decision. uncharted 2 is a great game. and if you werent hooked after the first 10 minutes then maybe im the idiot. SO why did you buy a ps3? just felt like having one? or was there a reason?

na, i wouldnt say i have a negative personality, but then again, who would think that of themselves ...the first 5 seconds of home was cool, but then got very boring. i agree that it is something different and cool i guess but just dont feel it is as good as the hype made it out to be...this is normal...

an no, not knocking uncharted 2 at all...im really looking forward to getting into it further, i just got sidetracked when i first booted it up...and while it was only about 5-10 minutes of gamplay, that 5 minutes of hanging froma train didnt really engage me too much. I do however agree that i was jumping the gun on that and fully expect it to get better, it better get better lol...

and as far as buying the ps3...i did kinda just feel like having one...lol. have had it for a bit over a week now and have logged 10 mins of uncharted, a few mintutes signing up for PSN, and another 10 minutes of "home" lol...so once i get time around work and school, i fully intend to get my focus back on the ps3...that is ofcourse if i can get the DJ Hero turntable out of the way...
"LL..scratch scratch...LL..scratch scratch...LL..scratch scratch...LL.........LL cool J...LL cool J....LL cool J is hard as HEEEEEEEEEL!!"

lol
