Quote:
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is apparently a fan of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series, opting in to judge a fan art contest themed around the second entry in the romantic vampire action series, New Moon.

That's according to a release from Japanese artist network pixiv—pretty much the overseas equivalent of deviantArt—which has tapped Kojima, Evangelion character designer and manga creator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and Twilight manga artist Ryuji Gotsubo to judge a Twilight: New Moon fan art contest.

Kojima, who I'd wager aligns himself with Team Jacob, is reportedly a "huge fan" of Twilight, according to the Anime News Network's translation of the release. He'll contribute his expert opinion as well as a signed copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, apparently, to the list of grand prizes.

Does this mean that Solid Snake will be renamed Sparkly Snake in the next MGS?

I was going to post this yesterday, but it triggered a 12 hour projectile vomiting session. Then it all made sense to me. The man writes and likes terrible stories (MGS1 excluded), and HE IS the godfather of homo-erotic vampires.

Maybe Raiden will be even more feminine and whiny in the new game.

If it weren't for the ME and Shadow Moses chapters, I wouldn't have kept MGS4. Ugh.

I don't know Anne Rice has been doing some Homo-erotic Vampires for awhile. Though, she makes it sort of make sense. It's the whole "longing" aspect.

I'm currently reading Twilight. Chapter 13 is, honestly, the worst of the whole book thus far. It's really, REALLY bad. Ugh...so bad.

It's been down for a week. I just recently went back to it. It's not very stimulating. It's quite easy to put it down. You should see my face when I read it. I'm thinking I should start taping myself, and put it on youtube. I get the angry face, the confused face...and the outright WTF!?! face.

If you can find a scan of Chapter 13, I recommend reading it. It's basically about how Edward has been stalking Bella since she arrived. He watches her at night while she eats, cleans, dresses, and sleeps. He then breaks into the house, and listens to her sleep talk.

The best part?

Bella is alright with it all.

Why read it then? My wife has asked me a few times if I wanted to read it and I just tell her no.

Actually, the new Wheel of Time book is what I'm reading!

I've explained myself a few times to Onslaught and Husker. So, I'll explain it here...

I have this "thing" that I need to understand awful. In order to know it, you have to experience it. I hate talking out of ignorance, so I have to experience things I don't like. This just so happens to fall onto Twilight. It really is awful. However, I must know how awful it is...so I'm reading it still.

Sometimes I surprise myself and actually end up liking the stuff that I use to hate, or finding it "not as bad". This is quite common actually. Though, I wouldn't have known that have I chosen to keep my ignorance.

I do this with everything. Yes, this includes film, music, books (obviously), games, people, drinks, food (harder though, because I have a sensitive stomach)...etc.

I don't need to have my testicles crushed in a vice grip to know how awful it is.

Twilight = Crushed Testicles

This is how I look at it...

Some of the things I use to make fun of it for, i.e.; Vegetarian Vampires. Well, that's not that funny anymore. Sure, it's still poorly done, however, I understand the "idea" better.

Though, had I not read it I wouldn't have known the creepiness of said Chapter 13. I also wouldn't know the terrible pains the author goes through to remind the reader of how "gorgeous" Edward is.

Remember, it's okay to be a creepy, stalking bastard. So long as your body is sculpted like a Greek God, and your face is molded out of pure Sex.
