Dead to Rights: Retribution
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3172790Last weekend, we brought word of a new Dead to Rights on the way for PS3 and Xbox 360. Now Namco Bandai has made it official, announced the game under its full name, Dead to Rights: Retribution, and passed along the first screenshots.
According to their press release, "Dead to Rights: Retribution will form an origin story portraying key events that shape and define Jack Slate's character including how he and Shadow first come together as partners against those who would bring the once great city to its knees." Shadow, for those who missed the previous Dead to Rights games, is Slate's dog, and he helps you reach secret areas, plan strategies on how to attack enemies from behind cover, etc.
The big gameplay hook this time around, according to Namco, is a "hybrid combat system" that mixes hand-to-hand combat with gunplay in apparently highly brutal ways. It's hard to say exactly what that means until we get a closer look at the game, but check out these early screenshots to get a sense of where the developers at Volatile Games are taking things.

The first one was alright. I liked the Max Payne bullet-time better, but it was still cool.

I guess some people can't appreciate an arcade style "Max Payne" instead. I enjoyed DTR myself.
I wonder why the fuck they're making this though since they canceled what I consider the unofficial DTR3 "Frame City Killer".HD DVD, the best in extras!
My HD DVD list: "Clerks 2", "The World's Fastest Indian", "The Thing", "V For Vendetta", "Enter the Dragon" and "Casablanca".
My Blu-ray list: "Warriors Of Heaven and Earth", "Curse Of the Golden Flower", "Kung Fu Hustle", Weeds Season 2, "Rent", "Tekkonkinkreet",
"Lives Of Others", "Black Book", "Hairspray", "Kingdom Of Heaven: Director's Cut", Sanctuary S1, "Chungking Express", "Videodrome", "Contact", "Paprika". -

The first one was only good on the Xbox. They dumbed it down hardcore on the PS2 and PC.
