Default COD4 one of the best multiplayer FPS games... How I'd change it.

It seems to me that so many FPS's over the years have had some great features, and then have lacked in other features that should have been a no-brainer. I will concentrate on the multiplayer aspect of COD4, because that is what I play 99% of the time. Friends will come over, and we divide the screen so that you can't see each other, ensure the radars are off, turn the lights off and crank up the sound. This adds so much mystery and suspense to a multiplayer - not to know where the other guy is. I recognize that I would be in the minority here, most will play online, and if they do offline, they just have the screens all visible to everyone. Anyways, on with the "Fixes"

1. How hard would it have been to add the multiplayer maps for online, to offline? I'm thinking wetwork, Pipeline, District etc. (I have PS3 - perhaps it's different on 360?)
2. Allow custom classes for offline multiplayer. This would allow you to play different gametypes with much more strategy. Eg 1 sniper hidden and stationary, and one "hunter" moving, low health - no regen. Sniper gets loadout of only sniper rifles, 3 smoke grenades. Harder to detect movement etc. As it is, I'm tired of always having to choose warfighter to get the extended sprint and G3 - but many guns aren't even in the off-line multi. M4, Mini-Uzi, RPD, Barrett 50Cal, Ak-47, and AK-74u etc.. the list goes on - let me pick the gun I want, with the options I want.
3. add some different game types - they seem all too similar and each game has no variation - let's move those flags/bombs/intelligence terminals around a bit.. Better yet - let each player hide their own flag.
4. Open up more of the buildings - how many times have you been playing and there are buildings that look like you should be able to go in/on them - Crash is a good example - not much action takes place in the south east section of the map, but there is a great building across from the "sandbagged" roof that has plants on the balcony. Opening that up would certainly add to the level? No?
5. Make your own level - I don't care how simplistic this is, Timesplitters was awesome for this - you could create levels with ideas of games in your mind - recreate classic levels in Bond, or Syphon Filter, or Perfect Dark etc.
6. the extra modes were cool too - Hardcore and Old School - It would be nice to have more control
7. Player customization - your face on your player - shooting your buddy! That sounds good!
Sixaxis implementation similar to GRAW2. Running and you want to go prone? Sure, just pitch the controller down quickly and do a running-slide. Wanna roll in prone, just tilt the controller sideways.
8. In the sniper rifles, a zoomable scope.
9. Cars tires popping. Glass breaks, cars blow up - even tail and headlights break - but I'd feel more immersion if you could pop tires!
10. Ability to block off areas of a level for closer play
11. better respawning - no one wants to respawn right behind the other guy, or right infront of him.
12. Remove the radar completely without going "hardcore" er - scratch that, how about improved radar flexibility - completely turn off map, but keep HUD on.

Online stuff
13. Xbox and PS3 to play against each other (fat chance - keep on dreaming - I know)
14. Completely mute other players without having to wait till the end of the match and selecting each.. I don't want to hear your dumb ass complain how it's not fair that I killed you. If I wanted to hear that much stupid conversation, I'd walk into a highschool.

Hmm, that seems to be it for now, but it's a good list to start.

By the way, I love COD4, these are just some things that I would want to add/change.

Also - more climbing. You're telling me that a 5 foot wall is too high for a marine recon guy?
climbing a tree is too hard? this would just add immersion.

I might actually pay for online if I knew I could play against PSN games.... My sister and her fiance have a PS3... It'd be sweet if we could get a battle of the rockbands going.

i think cod4 is a bloody great game, and it does have it's shortcomings. the "glitch" spots and whatnot are an example.

they supposedly were going to be adding some new class games, like multi-bomb search, destroy, that'd be awesome as shit, and perk-less, for no excuses.

i agree, some buildings opened up would be great, and moving around, even just SLIGHTLY (like 100 ft) the bombs for search/destroy/sabotage would add great strategy/randomness, i'm not gonna criticize the game i've played more than any ever. i just keep coming back for more and more, and passed up all the time i put in Final Fantasy's 3 and 7, the Advance Wars games.....COD4 is just awesome....
