Isn't putting the game on DS going back a step in technology? DS is like PS1 level graphics.

They aren't even doing it right either. If they went back to the older sprite models and 2D graphics...I can at least embrace this decision. But yes, it's a step back in technology.

Ugh, this pisses me off so much!!!

True, but it's cheaper to make and a bigger market. That's why the Japanese RPG devs are supporting the DS and PSP more then anything next gen'ish.

The fact that the new Dragon Quest is a DS game pretty much proves that point.

Seriously if you're an RPG fan you need to be own a DS, sure the graphics are a step back but it's where most of the JRPGs are landing these days other then the occasional PSP title.

Personally I don't mind it too much, I love 2d games. Just wish there was a way to play it on the bigscreen.

Yeah, I made small mention of this in an unrelated post somewhere yesterday.

    Not. A happy. Camper.

I'm going to tell myself that Suikoden VI is still in the cards somewhere. Whether that's true or not, that's what I'm going to tell myself.

Yeah I have a DS, but still, it hurts to hear this kind of news, especially since consoles are so starved for games. Makes me want to hate my little DS.

    I hate mine right now.

I keep sending sidewise glances at it while it collects dust on the shelf and mutter things like "Stop taking games away from my TV! I like big screens! I like sitting down somewhere that's not a plane, train or in law's home! I like JRPGs that aren't portable! YOU'RE KILLING ME!"

    Stupid DS...

I sat mine in a corner and promised not to plug it's power charger till it learns to share games with other consoles.

Okay, I thought of one way, and one way only for Konami to make this up.

I want a gorgeous new Castlevania title!!! It has to be downright gorgeous, with some 2d graphics, or a cel shaded style similar to 2d graphics. It has to be a side scroller...3dvania is never good. It has to be for the PS3 or 360, or both.

Then when you beat Castlevania, it has to have an apology from Konami.

Something along the lines of this...

"New Suikoden is being made for the PS3/360...sorry for the delay. To make this up, we will be releasing a DS port to the PS3/360 with 720p support, in the mean time. It will be for a budget price of $30. Again, sorry for the delay...we're going to go back to ***k our mothers, as another sign of our deepest apologies."

    New Suikoden... for the DS.

You gotta be F-ing kidding me.

They're taking all the good credit they earned from 5 (compared to 4s abysmal performance) and ruining it...

Hell, i'd even take another Suikoden Tactics (Which i loved, btw).

They needed to start building a PS3 Suikoden about 6 months ago. Hell, screw price drops and new mobo revisions, if they made a new Suikoden an X360 exclusive, you'd probably see me buy one on the spot. I may just have to buy a goddamn DS because of this (unless its a port of 4 or something)

Course... there goes my dream of having the next Suikoden load up all previous save games and actually doing something useful with it (Oh yea, i still have my saves all the way back to 1)

Anyone else actually end up liking 3's battle system after they got the hang of it? So many people hated it, but after a while, I felt it really kinda came into it's own... it made you think about the battles in a different way (Atleast it did for me)
