I remember the NES version. Capcom is to be commended for the improvements. Too bad they didn't add a jump button or some control while freefalling.

But this is how games should be remastered.

I played the original. A friend of mine has a modded Xbox with a zillion NES games on it including Bionic Commando and I got him hooked on it two years ago because he'd never played before. I was thrilled to hear of the remake. The PSN is nice enough to offer a demo of both Bionic Commando Rearmed *and* 1942.

PS, the reviews of the game all seem to mention how incredibly difficult it is...so like, don't feel bad if it takes awhile to play through o_O

No not at all. I see my enemies hoping over obstacles in order to take cover. Wish I could too. Also I'd like to jump and then catch something with my hook midair.

nah, I think it's fair. Now you have to strategise (spelling?)

Just imagine your guy is like a tank (taking way more bullets then the enemy) and his land agility is crappy because he can swing like a monkey. so his legs can't spring his heavy body more than a run and the government decided that he needs an arm to get him off the ground or something.

It's my understanding that they tried to copy the game exactly; save for a few additional bonus elements and the improved graphics. Side-scrollers back in the day had a reputation for being impossible...I wish someone would've mentioned that to me when I was 8 so it wouldn't have ruined my self-esteem for the rest of my life...I think Capcom should subsidize my therapy -_-

PS, if Bionic Commando had a jump function it would cease to be as unique as it is, thus, missing the entire point.
