The deal break for some is that you can't play the entire game from one character's POV before switching to the other. At some point in the plot, you will be forced to go back and play the other character to get back to the same "crossroads" in the plot you've reached with your current character, and if you've been ignoring the second character this whole time, it can mean a little frustration.
Aside from that one glaring "What the hell were they thinking" point, it's actually not a bad game at all. Don't expect the same frenzied button mashing combo madness of Kingdom Hearts in terms of action, but it's actually a pretty unique title that has some interesting things going for it. In my opinion it's not a winning, "AAA" title, but it's by no means bad, it just has the odd questionable design decision dragging it down from time to time. But still fun.

I loathe button mashing. If its a once in a while thing (the Blitzes from FF3 (snes) or the special attacks from FF12) I can live with it. But if its a 5 button combo to do simple attacks its a colossal turn off.

If I had to name one true RPG that was the best it's probably Enchanted Arms. The other possibilies would be Oblivion or Folklore, but neither is really what I call an RPG. The best PS3 RPG is making sure you have a BC PS3 so you can play PS2 games on it.

I was looking through an issue of Game Informer and there was an article about a game called Fallout. Looks like a possible rpg zombie stomping game. I looked it up on Game FAQ and theres a couple games in the series. Does anyone know anything about them?

Fallout is being done by Bethesda, the same folks who did Oblivion, and they're going to be creating Fallout 3 in the same vein; it's going to be a first person RPG.
The series itself goes back much further than the current generation of consoles, and is much beloved by PC gamers for a brutal, yet humorous post-apocalyptic world that usually involved a hapless explorer from nuke-proof vaults entering into this post-nuclear world to fend for themselves. Fallout 3 is set to continue the tradition, but in a nod to the traditional, turn-based combat mechanics of the original PC games, Fallout 3 has two modes, a straight up, Oblivion style FPS run and cut/gun mode, and another mode where you can pause the action, spend action points of a sort into various activities, and then sit back and watch those chosen actions play out.
There's a fairly protective following of Fallout fans that are keeping their eye on this title, so the pressure is on Bethesda to deliver.

first person RPG sounds like the old Nes game Shadowgate to me.
