Even people that play the games don't know what's going on. Surely reading a synopsis will be just as mind boggling.

Hopefully I can cover all the bases for you here. But be prepared to spend some time.

If you want, this dude on youtube has filmed a ton of games and uploaded the videos. He makes cuts where he can, but it'll still take a long time to watch all of them. After you watch the first clip, there should be a related link on the right side that is the next video in the sequence. If not, do a search for the game name, "full story," and "alexfung23." Including the Part # you're looking for will help.

MGS1 is the PS1 version, so the graphics are pretty bad, but it has better voice acting and the cut scenes aren't obnoxiously over the top like in the Twin Snakes version. I do prefer Twin Snakes better due to graphics and the voices are more consistent with the later games, but he didn't upload Twin Snakes.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

If you've already got a PS3, I suggest playing the vids on your PS3 and zoom in to fill the screen the best you can. Sit back and enjoy.

If you don't want to watch someone else playing, you can read game scripts from gamefaqs.com

    MGS
Game ScriptGame Script or Plot Summary

    MGS2
    Game Script or Plot Summary

    MGS3
    Game Script or Plot Analysis

Believe it or not, the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 (not Snake's Revenge) do actually contain relevant plot info to the full story. Thankfully, the games are short enough to have a fairly complete summary in the wikipedia articles. You probably want to start with these.

    Metal Gear on wiki

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on wiki

    Hope that helps
