Default Valkyria Revolution, the true sequel to the classic Valkyria Chronicles!

    It's out. Reviews are out.

    It sucks.

    That is all.

I'm still curious enough about this title that I'll probably pick it up at some point when it goes on sale. But yeah, once they ditched the pseudo-turn-based strategy system they had in the first game, I lost a lot of interest. Too bad for Sega, but at least there's a Yakuza game coming this summer so they'll get my day-one money for that.

I still hope for Panzer Dragoon to get another shot. I'll even accept PC ports of the Saturn games. No frill ports.

Orta got no love and it makes me sad to this day.

Yeah we've known it was crap since it landed in Japan, and Sega decided to release it at a budget price point in the states.

Also turns out it has nothing to do with the first games.

I even bought the remaster... which was just a 1080p job, AFAICT. And they left the movies, of which there are TONS throughout the story, in 720p. It's quite jarring actually. Lazy remaster (though still the best version, unless PC version markedly improves things).

Ugh, at least make some remasters of the "sequels" originally for PSP. Man....

Honestly a lot of this is particularly disappointing. The original game was a sales flop apparently. But now there's a huge install base, and they're actually enthusiastic for RPGs; see Persona 5. A real SRPG like Valkyria Revolution would actually sell this time, IMO. But I think they were too afraid of the opposite and made some standard JRPG instead.

(I did realize that I have a PS TV now and thus can buy Valkyria Chronicles II. It is actually quite good, people say. Though, that's judging by a handheld's standards, so it's not straightforward if it'll translate into a good home console game on the same level.)

You have to download it through the PS3 and transfer it.

Doesn't seem to be true anymore; at least you can download to Vita directly nowadays. I googles this last night:

    http://www.siliconera.com/2016/06/03...station-vitas/

But I'll find out when I get home if it'll download directly to PS TV.

(At least I could buy and download Persona 3 Portable directly to PS TV.)

If that's true then that happened within the last year. I bought the game while in Alaska but did not have my PS3 to install it. So, I couldn't play it.

    That's frustrating.

Confirmed I downloaded it on PSTV. I clicked buy in the PS iPhone app which I'd downloaded out of curiosity. It actually started downloading once I turned on PSTV.

BUT hey, the DEMO for the same game it refused to download directly to PSTV, because Sony. (Guessing they forgot to apply the "fix" to old demos.)

Game seems cool so far. Looks very PSP'y....

    Can't save during missions BTW.

It was. But, I was okay with knowing that at least it'll install. I bought Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and that doesn't work on the Vita Tv. At all.

Yes, for some bizarre reason, they turn games on for PSTV one at a time. Shrug
