Not to be a pirate, but Xenoblade plays wonderfully on the Dolphin.

You can play the bitch with an xbox one controller. I bought the 3DS version because I felt guilty about playing it via Dolphin.

Some new additions to gameplay coming in for FFXV according to the director:

Final Fantasy XV will see a lot of changes in the coming months. In the latest issue of Famitsu, director Hajime Tabata speaks at length about the game’s reception as well as a few words on the game’s story-focused and multiplayer downloadable content.

Right now, the team is currently focused on improving the scale and comfort in the latter part of Final Fantasy XV. Fans can expect even more information on these changes – detailed in a lengthy roadmap – and when they’ll be made available soon.

On the content front, Tabata says they’re planning to add in time-limited mob hunts based on enemies from the original story as DLC. He’s also heard fans say they’d like to travel with some of the minor characters such as Iris and Aranea so they’re exploring a solution for that approach as well.

In 2017 Final Fantasy XV will see an online expansion pack of sorts – the foundation of which include multiplayer. Tabata would like to include characters other than Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto in this feature. They’re also planning to add in an avatar system – which won’t just be exclusive to the multiplayer as the team is currently investigating how to include it in the main scenario. Perhaps in the main story the avatar character will join your companions but only their appearance will change.

As for story DLC, which for now includes three separate paid pieces of content focusing on Noctis’ friends, Tabata says the team would like to make sure their story changes depending on how you play. Of course, this won’t have any bearing on the game’s main quest.

Tabata says he’d also like to release VR content for the game as there are many things he’d like to do with it. He can’t speak on the timing yet though, so please look forward to it.

Yeah, me too. Even got the platinum, but I think I'll put it on the back burner and revisit it once all the patches and DLC are out. I still haven't touched New Game+, so that'll be my excuse. Basically, I'm treating it like, "Well, I played the early access/beta version, now to play the full game."

I would say that it depends on how much you're "feeling it."

If this is pressing all your buttons and you're really happy about playing it, no point in stopping. If you're thinking "This is okay," but not super-enthused, then I'd say wait. Fan enthusiasm for the franchise will allow you to forgive the later wonkiness of the story's pacing. If you don't have the nostalgia allegiance, the way the story unfolds later may color your overall reception towards the game, so maybe you should wait.

I personally enjoyed the game, quite a lot, actually. But I'll also be the first to admit it's got some problems, especially in the story department, though some of the later level design decisions are also questionable.

I'm actually enjoying the hell out of FF15. And I've only beat 1 FF game in the past. So no nostalgia here but if I end up waiting, and it takes months for the game to get updated, I'll just push on through now.

    It will take months.

We're getting a content update with a new amusement park/center thing later this month, and there are the official DLC packs that need to be bought, but on top of that, there's still the MIA Pro patch to bring it up to 60 fps that was supposed to have come out in December, and didn't, and Tabata has spectacularly failed to acknowledge it even exists, and there are the additional fixes to come, like other NPCs tagging along during quests besides just your bros, adding new cut scenes, fleshing out the story, adding in more areas/levels to play, etc.

The game will be properly "finished" in about a year, I'd say.

60fps on Pro patch? Shit, if I had known that, that would have gotten me to wait on the game. Shit! Now I am thinking of putting it on the back burner and playing something else till that hits.
