    Default 'Tekken' Developer Says There Won't be Paid DLC for Characters in Tekken Games

    Producer Katsuhiro Harada says that the characters are essential and shouldn't be charged for separately.

    Makes sense. There are only so many of the same Tekken characters they can make. People don't want to pay for a 54th Jack .

    Maybe they could do it the old school way where you unlock characters and outfits by doing specific shit in game. I miss those days.

    I rather enjoyed the MK story mode. IF it was like that I wouldn't mind. But I also haven't bought a Tekken games since last gen, so I doubt I will be getting this.

    Well, the Tekken story mode is nothing like the MK story mode, it's horrible.

    Honestly, a good story mode to me is arcade mode with an ending tacked on for each individual character. That was always more than good enough for me.

    Tekken 6 was nothing like that. It went away from that.

    Sounds like a shame to me. I loved MK's story mode but not all, hell most other, fighting games don't need something like that. Nothing wrong with just working through a ladder to see an ending.

    I disliked MKs story mode. Mainly because the story was shit. So it became too much of a focus.

    That's what's wrong with a lot of the newer Namco fighters. No individual endings, or at least nothing substantial.
    All of the original ps1 fighters ( Soul Blade, Tekken, Tekken 2,etc) had pretty awesome CGI endings for every character and everyone was unique. I hated certain characters, but you would play with them at least to unlock all of the endings. Soul Calibur has gone to lame ass endings now for the past few and they ruined the adventure mode. I thought Soul Blade still has one of the best adventure modes in a fighting game. Also, replacing the CGI endings with stupid one or two pages of artwork and some text....terrible.

    What!? The only modern Namco fighter I've played is Soul Calibur 4 and I figured the endings were an anomaly there. Man, the CG endings were some of the best parts of the PS1-era games. Tekken 3 especially. So many great movies in that one.

    Man, if I have to play through story mode to get new outfits and stuff I'm just not going to be getting those outfits. I'd rather have the option to shell out five bucks or something. I can't stand going through dreadful arcade modes.
