People play the campaigns?

Okay, technically I've played through a few of them, but to me it feels like playing the arcade mode of a fighting game - there's technically a story there but it doesn't really matter and you're not going to learn any skills that actually translate to the multiplayer. -

It'll be interesting to see Halo go up against COD

by Frank Cifaldi
Previous analyst predictions were right: it looks like ongoing sales of the annual Call of Duty franchise are beginning to slow down.
Life-to-date sales of 2011's entry Modern Warfare 3 are behind where 2010's Black Ops was at this time last year, despite the former having a stronger debut.
While exact sales numbers are not public, analysts at Macquarie Equities say that Modern Warfare 3 volume sales are behind by around 4.2 percent.
Notably, March sales in particular were damning, with last month's sales of Modern Warfare 3 reportedly less than half the amount that Black Ops sold at that time last year.
Analysts at PiperJaffray say that these numbers cound indicate significant changes in the market: specifically, the firm believes that casual players -- those who don't necessarily purchase a game at launch -- are buying less games at retail, and are instead using their consoles primarily for video streaming and other forms of media consumption.
Webush Securities analyst Michael Pachter added that March's weak performance could indicate that software sales are becoming more reliant on new releases, meaning consumers are less often buying games after their initial debut.
Publisher Activision Blizzard does not rely entirely on boxed retail sales for Call of Duty revenue. In fact, 34 percent of the company's revenue in its last fiscal quarter came from digital sales, much of that from the 1.5 million annual premium subscribers to its Call of Duty Elite service.
Now might be the time to strike.Don't Reach, Young Blood

Hm, that's pretty interesting to see actually. Though if the situation is more along what Pachter thinks, it won't help Halo any come November.
Kinda curious that none of the analysts seem to entertain the idea that it may just be fatigue starting to set in for the series. -

Nah, it's because Black Ops was actually awesome and MW3 is just good.
Never been on the Halo bandwagon. I enjoyed 3 and Reach. Hated the Halo CE reissue. Mostly just because I got to a level and had no idea where to go. Spent a few days on 1 part and quit.
I will end up getting Halo 4 I am sure, it's just not a day 1 title for me. -

Halo 1 and 2 both suffered from this problem. I got a little confused in Halo 1 the first time I played it, but did get past it. Halo 2 I got stuck and never finished. I actually hope they reissue Halo 2 as well so I can have an excuse to replay it and actually finish this time.
My biggest issue with the Halo CE reissue was the drastic change they made to the look of the characters. They didn't look updated, they looked like different people. Cortana was the only one who looked normal because it looked like they just used the model from Halo 3.
That said I am excited for Halo 4. I have seen some of the dev footage and it is looking good.

This is a day one for me but I'm very worried about this game. I do not want a Halo call of duty type game. I hope 343 doesn't fail me. I also wish this was delayed and made as a day one game for the neXtBox if it's coming out next year.
I hope going up against call of duty will be a problem since I'm hoping that gamers understand that call of duty really hasn't change any in the last few years.Xbox Live : AXIOS x117x
