Probably best to treat it just as a rumour. Wait until the official word comes out before putting aside the cash. Any magazine or gaming site could easily manufacture a rumour.

PC port of GTAIV, even on a GTX 570, have to keep shadows at high (very high kills fps), turn night shadows off, and keep the draw distance relatively low just to maintain 50-55 fps. Which would be fine if the overall visuals looked good, but they don't, it's just an all around poorly optimized PC port. That said, I bit and got LA Noire for $5 from the spring Amz sale. Haven't dl'ed it yet though will do pretty soon.
Wouldn't be surprised if the PC GTAV turns out to be another weak port, but part of me is holding out hope for a good one nonetheless.Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen.

This is the absolutely most irritating thing about R* - When the console versions get released they will even outright deny a PC version is coming, this one year moratorium or whatever it is burns me.
Why? Other than...? To get IV to work I had to install tons of crap I didn't need/want.
And when you think about it that's just plain lazy. Since a PC and an Xbox 360 are so similar why is it so hard to make it work right? -

Well, there's also the performance issues of GTA 4 mentioned above. Bully has a sound issue where you will hear the sound of everything in an area at once, no matter how far away you are, not to mention a terrible control scheme. I bought L.A.Noire last year on sale and besides having to lower settings pretty well to get decent, not good, performance, I had a friend bring over his 360 copy and even at higher settings the game looked better on 360. Also, the amazon digital version seems to have some pretty terrible installation and patch issues that R* doesn't seem to keen on fixing.
Then there's Red Dead Redemption, wait... no there's not. Which is perhaps for the best given the issues their other games have. -
