I had a feeling this was coming with all that no hope marketing ramping up. Not sure what to make of the trailer yet. Kinda looks like they finally went pure shooter with RE. I was hoping the "new direction" or whatever Capcom said about RE6 a while back meant a return to the horror roots. Still, Chris and Leon is cool and it looked like that dude with the blood maybe playable too.

Not totally sure what to think so am withholding an opinion until we see more. Hope co-op returns.

It looks kinda like Gears of War...but with Zombies.

I got me a 3DS title to look forward to. Not sure about this. I enjoyed RE5 for what it was, but it wasn't much of an RE game.

Fuck zombies. They're boring. I'd much rather fight intelligent or semi-intelligent foes. I hope they keep zombies to a minimum.

However it's nice to see that this exists.

Imagine this is a surprise party that you found out about early. Be polite and pretend you're super-surprised: Capcom has just confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is on the way! The official announcement of RE 6 contains some confirmed details about what we can expect when the game hits November 20, including the suggestion that the president of the United States himself is a zombie.

Here's the official game description, right from Capcom:

It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

I don't have a problem with Zombies. However, the game doesn't look to match the enemy type. It keeps getting faster and faster, and having a slow enemy merely makes that gametype more apparent. It's like if you remade Night of the Living Dead using the same script, but shot it like it was a Bourne movie. It wouldn't work right.

I liked the trailer a lot, looked like different characters can add different styles of play. Leon looks more horror while Chris looks more shooter.

And thank christ about the co-op being gone, it SUCK ASS in Resident Evil 5, which in itself sucked too. However, I read on IGN the characters have partners, and it looks like the Mercs partner is Ashley actually.

They're modern zombies. But in essence, they're just reskinned ganados, yes. Only without the plagas and weapons. but why's that matter? It's something I've wanted the series to return to for years.
