Sweet - Seagate Barracuda Pro 10TB HDD is available now. I've always had good performance and longevity from the Barracuda line.

Would rather have a hybrid drive at half the size for that price point, but it really depends on what you're going to do with it.

Actually someone like me would prefer to have their disc collection available on one device also for various reasons.

When you can have your entire purchased music collection available at your fingertips, why not? 5Mb on average per song, 60-80Mb per full disc. It's nice that you buy for cds from Amazon and they "autorip" it for you but that's still at their mercy.
Now, same principle but with dvd movies - recode to H264 same quality - Average movie with DD 5.1 is about 1Gb in size.
OTOH, Blu Ray - A much bigger drive is sort of needed. Movie only, no recode, remove lossy audio and foreign languages, 25-35Gb per title typically, some smaller, some bigger.

Of course this is all theoretical as in the USA the DMCA forbids removing or tampering with the CSS/AACS in place for movies. Of course when your hard earned money is spent on a disc and you play it 5 years later and it somehow is rotted, where's YOUR protection? What is the studio doing for you?

You're just full of truths this week! You should quit your day job and do this full time! If they taketh your internet away, either by outage or other reason, your streaming tends to be broken, unless you're streaming via HTPC to other device in the house.

The Lion King as a GTA 5 mod. Sweet. Can't stop laughing at little Timon and his gunplay.

That sounds like a lot of worry and hassling over media. I never do any of that stuff - and 99.9% of my time, my music, movies and anything else are readily available wherever I am on a number of devices

Possibly fake screens, but this articles postulates that the 6-core 1600X Ryzen is up to 50% faster than the i5 7600K.

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/6-c...-i5-7600k.html

And yet another article claims the 1600X to get close to the i7 6800K. If the leaked prices are even close to correct, AMD could have a massive winner on their hands:

If true, just how stupidly ludicrous does Intel's pricing seem now?

The auto rip on amazon is only 256kbs, which for an audiophile is terrible quality.
