Not sure if they worded it this way before, but this is how Rockstar is labelling the system requirements:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/28/ma...hots-released/
LOWEST TESTED SPECS
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Intel Dual Core 2.4 GHZ or AMD Dual Core 2.6 GHZ, or better
2GB System RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce 8600 GT 512MB RAM or AMD Radeon™ HD 3400 512MB RAM
LOW RECOMMENDED SPECS
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Intel Dual Core 3GHz or AMD equivalent
3GB System RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce 450 512MB RAM or AMD Radeon™ HD 4870 512MB RAM
HIGH RECOMMENDED SPECS
Windows 7/Vista (32 or 64 bit)
Intel i7 Quad Core 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
3GB System RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce 480 1GB RAM or AMD Radeon™ HD 5870 1GB RAM
HIGHEST TESTED SPECS
Windows 7/Vista (64 bit)
Intel i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ or AMD FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ
16GB System RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB RAM or AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 3GB RAM
"Highest tested specs" doesn't mean that's what the game requires....it just means they ran it on a machine with those specs. They go ahead and mention the ACTUAL recommended specs.Intel i5 2500k (@4.7Ghz) + XFX Radeon 7970 3GB RAM! + 16GB DDR3 RAM (STEAM/Origin: Nealon_Greene)

Well, I'll be preordering Max Payne 3 later today I've decided. Played around with my 360 Gamefly rental some more before returning it and visuals continue to impress and gameplay is fun--although the cutscenes do continue to annoy and there are some elements from the original MP games that I am missing, it's still an overall great looking and fun game. Damn, will be pissed though if PC version turns out to be another lackluster port, keeping nerdy fingers crossed, haha.
Back to 670 gpu temps for a minute. Set up a custom fan curve in Afterburner and have got max temps under control, at least from my perspective. Extreme max temps of 80-86c I reached in a number of games I previously reported have now been reduced to 70c max. I think I saw it reach 71c a few times for a few seconds under extreme load conditions--for example, in Deus Ex HR, got 8xSSGAA enabled for it, it uses up the GPU to the max 99% almost constantly. Again, under more normal conditions without crazy AA hacked in, 670 stays cool and just eats through most games with no problemo.Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen.

yeah that's the first thing I did when I put in my 670 was install precision x and set a fan curve. I did the same thing with evga precision when i got my 570. NVIDIA's default fan profiles usually keep it at like 30% until it gets super hot lol
Currently Playing: Uncharted 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword
Back Burner: LBP2, LA Noire
Just finished: Anno 2070 (PC)
Home Theater: Panasonic PT-ae4000u, 110" Carada Brilliant White Screen, PS3
Gaming PC: I5 2500k, GTX 670, 8GB Gskill 1600 RAM, 64 GB Patriot SSD, Samsung BD Drive -

Haha, yep, was testing with default auto at first, fan never went past 50% even under most extreme conditions. Also found that upping the fan speed to 60% manually didn't help much either, was still hitting 80-85c. With custom fan curve, it ups that fan close to max/to max at times during the most taxing situations and you can definitely hear it, lol, it's like louder than 4 360's (edit: just an exaggeration of course, haha) combined when max rpm kicks in.

Yeah, the fan in my 7870 rarely goes above 45%. I can cook it up to 50-60% in certain areas of Karkand and with Metro 2033 though. Plus if I overclock to risky areas (above 1350Mhz GPU and above 1400Mhz for memory).

$78....I just had to. LOL, always liked Corsair SSD's anyways. Going in the gaming PC until 256GB SSD's drop just a BIT more. Then I'll chuck it in a laptop to breathe some new life into it:

If memory serves correctly, got Alice for $7.50 during the Steam Christmas sale last year. Well worth it, imo. The weird art design might put you off but I dig it a lot. Gameplay is simple: it boils down to some platforming, solving simple puzzles, and bashing or shooting enemies. But like the art design, it's weird and something different. Might be hit or miss but again, it's a hit for me. I just love the style and atmosphere which does a nice job of drawing me into its weird world. For $6, I'd check it out. Don't forget to edit a few lines in the ini to get 60fps and free DLC if you do decide to get it.

Couldn't resist. Will be late for work. Screw it. Ran the performance test in DMC4 running in DirectX10(sorry, DMC4 is not a DX11 game) at 1920x1080, AA at C16x, with shadows and overall quality at super high and I never dipped below 140 fps. Boom, headshot. Now to try some other games on this thing.
