I agree with Badger....you'll be BLOWN away. You can get a SERIOUS monitor for ~$200. Spending more would just be spending more for the sake of wasting money IMO.

Monitor wise, pretty much spoiled for choice these days. I've owned and had mostly good experiences with Acer and Asus, but I've also read a lot of good stuff regarding certain Dell and Samsung monitors. Just have fun shopping around for the best price/performance value that meets your needs.
Speaking of EA, I noticed Dead Space 2 was added to my list of Origin games. I own it for Steam so am guessing Origin scanned my files and added it without my knowing. Same thing happened to me with Alice Madness Returns; bought it on Steam but got added to my list of origin games.Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen.

Pretty much still in awe of the graphics. Hard to believe those are in game assets but yet, there they are. Lighting and shadowing is just intensely good. Crazy to think these visuals will eventually look outdated (or will they, lol) in due time down the road when we're all rockin Metro5/BF6 using the latest gtx1080/amd11970 gpu.

Jesus, nice shots dude. Amazing. I am pretty much the biggest anti-single player guy out there, but you have to admit, those graphics are beyond anything we've had to date.

Watcha! Hahaha....hahahaha...Mwuhahahaha!
I'm up and running again. Got my 6870 in the mail today. Installed IMMEDIATELY. Now my CPU is OC'd to 3.37 GHz. That alone now has me maxing out Batman AA @ 1080p 60FPS even though the GPU is bogged down by the fact that I have to enable the broad AA effect from AMD's control center. Gonna see what I can pull out from OC'ing the GPU now...
I'm so happy! I was hooting an hollering like a maniac when I saw the box at my doorstep.
The other cool thing is how AMD cards now output surround sound right out of the box. No more hunting down drivers. -

Download MSI Afterburner for GPU overclocking. Much better than CCC or nVCP.

5 desktops in the last week or so, so I figured I'd build something for myself. Sorry for the crappy phone pics.

For those who are computer savvy I'm trying to decide what type of single monitor to get and I'm in a toss up whether I want 120hz gaming lcd like the SA27950D or something like an IPS panel?
I don't care for the 3d but the 120hz will in theory be a little worst on colors but better in regards to tearing and smoothness and the IPS will undoubtedly have better viewing angles and color reproduction. I think I can get a 120hz monitor cheaper in the larger sizes since it's going to limit me to a 1080p resolution whereas the good 27 inch IPS monitors are running a higher resolution and are just to far out of my price range. -

First of all, let me apologize for that last outburst guys. I was overworked and the fact that my own rig is the only one I couldn't repair on my own made me suffer quite a bit. Thus, I was easily enraged.
The printer still works, btw. Despite a little accident with water dropping from the ceilling (that guy on the upper floor is a true jerk. He doesn't even have an insurance).
My PC is still inaccesible though. Of the 25 PCs I worked with this month mine is the only one I didn't manage to repair*. I used my newly found resources (lots of geeky stuff hiding in every corner of my new workplace) to corner the issue though.

Turned out Badger was partly right. While those first two 560 TIs were somewhat broken (faulty voltage regulation), the third one (the one that never failed, as long as it was slotted in PCIE2) was perfectly fine.
The issue is with the mainboard. That Radeon 6850 won't work in any slot of the mainboard but proved fully functional in any of the other mainboards I tested it in.
I'm RMAing it tomorrow morning.
Wish I had known this 5 months ago.
Oh well. Getting a Kepler (turns out they are releasing 2GB TIs after all. Even ones with my favourite board/slot design -- Radeon HD 6970) when it finally releases next month.
*I swear. It's an old family curse. Neither my brother nor my father nor me ever managed to repair any of our own stuff, despite the success we have with other people's property. Perhaps I should pay someone else to build my next rig. Lol.PSN/XBL: BLINX1234
