Just came back from repairing my first printer (Brother MFC-5440CN) and figured I'd post this here while the blog is still a work-in-progress.
Before I applied my little "tweak", the LCD display would always show the ink cartridges as empty, thus refusing to print, fax and scan anything.
Here's what I did to fix this:
1. Remove all the cartridges
2. Cut small pieces of black tape, barely enough to cover the see through window in front of those cartridges.
3. Apply tape to the front of every cartridge.
4. Insert cartridges back in.
5. Reset printer
6. When asked if new cartridges were inserted, press 2 (No)
In the future, I'll try to apply the tape to the LEDs inside the printer instead but as long as I lack the means to do so (i. e. tape that is black on both sides), this fix is as good as any.
This works for most Brother inkjets, btw. It might also work for some HP devices. -

"Fixed my first iPhone today, it had a cracked screen. Thought I'd share my meticulous method:
Steps:
(1) purchase duct tape
(2) cut duct tape into small pieces and apply it over the crack until no longer visible
Blog post upcoming, but just wanted to post right away. FYI - this should work on all iPhone models"Currently Playing: Uncharted 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword

I just found out how to be the ultimate douchebag.
Steps:
(1) Wait for someone to post a helpful solution to a problem that can happen to anyone (really anyone owning a printer).
(2) Post some douchy reply that makes no sense whatsoever, 'cept making fun about the OP.
I also found out how to apply Anti-Aliasing to Unreal 3 engine based games and how to fix broken emails (which can happen quite often. Especially with today's html encoded ones as used by pretty much everyone, including game studios). Furthermore, I was working on a round-up of some of today's more unique MMORPG games.
Won't be posting either now. You guys are so smart, you can find out yourself. *hmpf*PSN/XBL: BLINX1234 -

May I ask what is so funny about my post?
Have you guys never used duct-tape to repair some piece of hardware? Do you always use soldering iron when using duct tape or a coloured marker would be perfectly feasible?PSN/XBL: BLINX1234 -

It depends upon who's asking; blinx, or Paul's Computers.
