Every version seems to suffer from the very same texture pop-in.
Although, on PC, it seems to be mostly a driver issue. There are less NVIDIA people reporting texture issues than there are AMD users. In fact, the NVIDIA side of things seems to suffer from another bug altogether. Massively straineous flickering.PSN/XBL: BLINX1234 -

I figured who Johnny was

Regarding the resolution drop, for all we know it only happens for a few frames at a time, so it would hardly be noticeable to the naked eye.
I'd say that only the PC version is having issues, both the ps3 and 360 version are just fine.
This comparison shows that both are near identical:

IIRC John said PC > 360 full install > PS3 part install > 360 w/ HDD > 360 sans HDD in terms of streaming performance. I agree that it's likely driver issues with the PC version. -

One time I was hanging out at a bar with The Johnster, we were talking about home-made rockets, then Darkfalz came in... it got so awkward so quickly.

Like you said, Steam sale for me. 8-12 hours is not worth $60 to me....and with no real multiplayer to speak of, the replay value will be at a minimum...

New AMD drivers almost eliminate the texture pop-in entirely. Buddy has it maxed out on a Radeon 6850....looks AMAZING! Better than I thought. Vsions was right!Intel i5 2500k (@4.7Ghz) + XFX Radeon 7970 3GB RAM! + 16GB DDR3 RAM (STEAM/Origin: Nealon_Greene)

8-12 is fine for me too but I play slow, am thinking it will take me 20 hours to finish rage. I remember reviewers complaining it only took them 4 hours to complete Hard Reset, that game does end sort of abruptly but nonetheless it took me around 10 to complete. For Rage, put five hours in last night and am still at Wellspring killing bandits for money for that chick at the bar. I like it, having fun.
Graphically, am having little to no issues with texture pop in. Am using a gtx570 and have that gpu transcoding option thingy enabled. My biggest complaint would have to be the lack of video options, only settings available on PC are resolution, antialiasing, brightness and that aforementioned gpu transcode. I'd prefer to have more control over what I can enable and disable. Rage has lots of bloom in certain areas, I hate bloom, wish I could disable it.
The low resolution textures aren't pretty either. Game looks fine overall but get up close to almost anything and it starts to look a bit nasty. Makes taking screeenshots difficult lol. Character models look fine though. It looks like they compressed the environmental textures more than the characters? Can't remember where I read it, but JC mentioned that they are going to release a super quality texture pack for the pc down the road. Bring it on.
Will post some screenshots of the game in thew little pc thread.
edit: oh and am playing on hard difficulty setting, feels kinda easy so far. Might get tougher I don't know?Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen.
