Need recommendations of previously released games
Hey folks, I would like to take advantage of previously released games that can be had at an affordable price this holiday Season. So far I am looking at Fable II, Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2, and Halo Reach. Any other recommendations of worthy titles that may have been released in the past 18 months?
Currently Playing: HALO 4, Dead Island -

All of the ones you mentioned are top choices, but I would also look into:
Ghostbusters (mostly if you like the movies, but still a good game)
Alan Wake
Batman: Arkham Asylum
3D Dot Game Heroes (complete zelda 1 clone, but fun with a great style)
Assassin's Creed 2
Borderlands (non-GOTY edition should be cheap)
Bully (older title, but still a great one... Rockstar's best, IMO)
Heavy Rain (really unique experience, look heavily into it before buying)
Most of those are no-brainers but I'm not sure how much you game or what you've already played.
Also, this year has been great for download titles:
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (especially if you've a co-op partner)
Limbo (short, but fantastic atmosphere)
Shank
Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
Ilomilo
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero -

1. Go to Metacritic.
2. Click Sort By Score.
3. Start with #1 and go down the list, buying everything that fits into genres you like.
4. ...
5. Profit.
Also, buy Flower (PSN downloadable game).
Also, if you like RPGs or awesome things, you must play Valkyria Chronicles.
Underappreciated gem: Just Cause 2. Personally, I liked it almost as much as the last 2 Assassin's Creeds. Visually amazing game.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1

Hrm....BioShock 1 or 2, maybe Fallout 3. LittleBigPlanet GotY should be around $30 or so, as well.

Really, it depends on what kind of time you have, and what your into more. Out of all the games that you listed, I think that Mass Effect 2 is the best bang for your buck right now.

The saint's row double pack is $30 on amazon. Awesome games if you never played either of those.
Also for older games; Riddick, Wheelman, Red Faction, Prototype, Spiderman Web of Shadows. There are a ton for dirt cheap if you don't mind games that are over 1 year. -

Does it matter what system? Looks like all the games you have listed are 360 games (which are all must haves IMO outside of Fable 2), or are you looking for suggestions on any system? If so...
360:
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell Conviction
Forza 3 (get GOTY version = all DLC included)
Gears of War 2 (1 & 2 are both cheap if you haven't played them)
PS3:
Killzone 2
Heavy Rain
Demons Souls
Uncharted 2
Multi-plat:
Borderlands (GOTY has all DLC)
Blur (bombed but is fun)
Dead Space
Mirrors Edge
Assassins Creed 2
Just Cause 2
Enslaved
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Red Dead Redemption
I can keep going too lol plenty of great games out there. -

Bayonetta is fantastic. It should easily be considered for hack 'n slash of the year but it won't because it sold poorly and God of War III will auto-win that.
If you can get Halo: Reach cheap, do so. The single player is everything Halo 3 should have been. Amazing game is amazing. Split/Second is really good but I'm not sure if it can be had for $30 or less yet. Also, it's older than 18 months, but Valkyria Chronicles is really good, too, and can be had new for $20.
Actually it's a possessive followed by a plural. (/The more you know).
