Microsoft Ends 1 Vs. 100 for Xbox 360
I know a few in here really enjoyed this. I always thought it was a pretty cool idea, but alas, it is no more.

Microsoft confirmed today that there will be no third season for their Xbox 360 version of 1 Vs. 100 and that the game won't be returning.
"When we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept," said Dave McCarthy, General Manager, Microsoft Game Studios. "We're very proud of the ‘1 vs 100' team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we've learned to future programming."
During the beta season more than 114,000 people played the game on Xbox Live simultaneously.
According to Microsoft the 1 Vs. 100 team is now "focusing their skills and applying the technology used to develop "1 vs 100" to new projects that will be unveiled in the future."
Let's hope that Microsoft is more supportive of those projects then they apparently were of this one. -

That sucks. I actually didn't check it out until the 2nd season and really got into it. It seems like it shouldnt cost all that much to run, so it sucks that they are dropping it.

Was this even available recently? I tied to find it but never could.
Anyway, I did download Hasbro Game Night for free which appears to work and has a bunch of achievements showing as available. -

I went to download this last week, since I had never played it and wanted to give it a try. It wasn't available on the marketplace, so I looked up information about it online, and that's where it gets weird. It seems like a up to a few months ago Microsoft was confirming there would be yet another season, and that they were requesting suggestions and questions from the community for future games.
Literally 2 nights ago I was on Xbox.com, where the 1vs100 game page was asking from community submitted questions, and even adding that these would be used for the next season. Now it just reads with farewells.
This is indeed disappointing. At least keep the game downloadable and allow the gaming community to play it peer to peer, just with no real rewards like points or arcade games.
Plus what'll happen to Chris Cashman?

i hadn't though of that but now I hope yout right. Seems right up kinects alley and its something I'd definitly purchase. Just imagine doing the crazy ass dances yourself to get your avatar do do them as well. Better yet... maybe it'll have 1:1 control from the waste up for every "kinected" player. Just imagine everyone in the crowd flipping the bird when they lose or don't get picked.

I never played it, but I watched my son play... I wouldn't be terribly interested in it unless they had themed contests. They always had questions about pop-culture crap (rap, television shows, etc.) that I hate and would never pay attention to, thus making it where I wouldn't know the answers. If it comes back, they should have a serious version with science, history and such, with no pop-culture crap.

This is so lame. Seriously. Why make such a big deal over this game just to drop it a year later. It was very popular and they are probably going to try and figure out a way to make money off of it. Shame on you Microsoft. I hate you right now.
