Remember those recent rumors about Beyond Good & Evil 2 being canned? Well, Ubisoft has come out and assured gamers all over that this certainly is not the case, and that BG&E2 is still under-way in development.

The rumor started when word broke out that Michel Ancel, creator of the Rayman series, had left Ubisoft to start up his own company. It was because of Ancel’s departure that rumors of Beyond Good & Evil 2 being cancelled had come about, however, Ubisoft has debunked these rumors in a recent interview with Eurogamer.

Ubisoft told Eurogamer, “There are no changes on the horizon.” EG had asked Ubisoft if Ancel was still with the company, and whether or not Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development. Ubisoft answered both questions with a simple response, “Yes.”

So there you have it gamers! Rumors have been smashed, and Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development! Let’s hope more info on the game comes out at a certain convention in two weeks.

It's good to see the game is still in production, though I have grave doubts about its actual commercial success. The first Beyond Good & Evil didn't garner much of an audience, though there's a lot of positive word of mouth about it that's built up over the years.

Personally I just want to see how they continue the story. They revealed a lot of interesting things towards the end that definitely need to be addressed.

I heard that some of it was pending on the performance of Rayman Origins. Though, I find that merely a marketing ploy.

Speaking of Rayman Origins, it'll be $30 at Gamestop tomorrow. Don't worry, I'm sure most establishments will price match.

Already picked it up. As much as I like it the game will probably tank.

I love Rayman. Rayman 2 was the best platformer I had played until Super Mario Galaxy.

I dug the demo, but could not justify the $60 price so close to Zelda and Skyrim. But, I can do $30.

They said the same thing when the BG&E HD game was released. Seems like the sales performance of every Ubisoft game is a factor in the future of BG&E2.

Pretty sure they are closed today, plus with no tax and free shipping still makes amazon the place for me. I can wait till Monday or Tuesday to get it. But I am still debating to get it or not right now. It is ubisoft, so it will hit the $30 price relatively soon, and my backlog is a little ridiculous right now. Still have to finish Saints Row, Skyrim, Darkness, MGS, Zelda...I'm sure there are a few more, just drawing a blank right now.
