I need a gaming headset. suggestions ?
I just moved in to an apartment and will now have to be respectful of my neighbors. So Im looking for an Xbox 360 gaming headset that has voice chat and sound exclusively, nothing via TV or sound system. my brother has a turtle beach (wired) and it seems comfortable but I wonder how it will fell after a few hours? is the wireless turtle beach worth the extra $20? I would like to spend $80 or less.
any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks -

I would agree and I was about to post the same thing.
I bought my son the X31 and they sound really good. The only thing that sucks about them is that the chat is not wireless... well it is almost wireless, as you have to connect your headset to your controller, but the controller could be wireless.Lucifer! We are here for your praise, evil one. -

Get the TurtleBeach X41. I have it and love it. Worth every cent.
I ordered the new cable they have so I can use it to chat on the PS3 as well.
It's only drawback is that it eats AAA batteries pretty fast. I need to switch them every 15-20 hours or so.
Seriously I wish I bought these a long time ago. The only way I will get this immersed in the sound without the headset is if I crank the shit out of my receiver, which is not feasible most of the time.Online name for 360, PSN and Steam - Snadinator

I'm glad I'm married... somehow, sitting there on my couch with my headset, with the mic in front of my mouth, with a tournament edition stick on my lap and possibly a pair of 3D glasses in the future, I just don't think I'd score too well with chicks.

Anyone know anything about these?

I'm contemplating getting these as they are about $45 cheaper than the X41's and come with PS3/360 chat functionality out of the box. The only drawback is they are wired (but it has a 12 foot cord and extensions are super cheap).Proud member of the BATMAN club and the CAT SQUAD... it's not what you think.

I would personally stay away from tritton, I know several of my friends went that route and some took them back and exchanged them TBs and one had to sell and take a hit and than bought TBs...

You dont need to, I use the optical out on mine but I use HDMI as well. just take the housing off of your component cable (it clicks back on) and the HDMI and component cable fit at the same time. bingo bango my friend

How easy is it to change the inputs on the X41s? I'd use them for anything ranging from TV to PS3/blus to 360. Everything currently runs through my receiver.

super easy, anything that takes optical can be used, I lived with someone who had to wake up really early and I used it to watch my BD movies, play ps3/360 games.
I have had mine for a while and have hundreds of hours (25+ days I believe) in them and they are still as comfortable as ever and sound fantastic.
