Default Yep, another God of War game (For PSP!)

    http://kotaku.com/5530564/god-of-war-returns-to-the-psp

God of War: Ghost of Sparta is headed to the Playstation Portable later this year and the best part, it's being developed by the folks who made the first, fantastic God of War PSP title.

The title will be a collaborative effort between Ready at Dawn, who developed God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica Studio.

"Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-time high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytime, anywhere."

Set in the realm of Greek mythology, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game has players once more take on the role of Spartan warrior Kratos. This new adventure picks up after the original God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos' ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his tattoo, scar and family. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, he will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes throughout his merciless quest.

The developers say they have "made significant strides to give players a realistic feel that has never been seen before on PSP or any other portable platform." The game showcases higher quality environments and characters, giving an unmistakable realism to Kratos' newest quest, they say.

The game will have more than 25 percent more gameplay than God of War: Chains of Olympus, according to the release.

The game will also have a new weapon system, new magical powers, weapons and navigational abilities, many more enemies on screen, and a greater number of boss encounters, truly bringing the experience to life, all while on the go.
Well, getting a PSP got this much more enticing.

I was about to post this, dammit. I guess you have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat the swift, milk drinking Asian.

Anyway - The first one I was able to play back before we sold the psp, and it was a kick ass game. Probably one of the best looking and playing hand held games I've ever played or seen. I'm anticipating this one to be even better, although I doubt I'll pick up another psp to play it.

Those who do have a psp, though...You guys definitely need to pick up the first GOW for the psp, and prepare yourselves for this one because it's going to be pretty goddamn bitchin.

Usually I have meetings in the morning but I took the morning off to study for this big test. And right now...I'm studying >.>

I'm heavily considering the Peace Walker PSP bundle so I'm trying to decide which games would justify my purchase

Loved Chains of Olympus! It was actually the first God of War game I ever played. Hopefully this will be just as awesome.

Well, hope all the studying sinks in. Good luck on the test, dude.

Peace Walker does sound pretty incredible. Since you were trolling Kotaku this morning, I'm assuming you saw the little article about chatter being made over bringing Peace Walker to the PS3. I'm not sure how well that will work, as it seems like something that would incredible on a handheld would be merely 'ok' on a console, without spending the time and money necessary to make it console worthy.

PSP has some really, really kick ass games. The amount of things you can do with the PSP is really cool, and it's a shame that it's just constantly getting blasted by the ds on the sales charts. They really need to figure out some way to make it relevant, but it just seems like a losing proposition for them with that thing.

One thing they do now, I noticed, is they have these platform wars, like "Xbox is better than Playstation." That's nerdy to me. What the fuck is the matter with you?

It's holding up well outside of NA, and it's actually a good portable if you enjoy RPGs. I think it's biggest issue is simply that there's a glut of good console games and most people just don't have time to be playing it unless they're riding a bus.

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same. I don't regularly commute to a workplace and so when I'm at home and have a choice between playing in front of a TV or using a portable, the TV wins every time.

Travel is a different story, the PSP rules when I'm on a plane.
