Who's Going To E3?
Turns out that I'll be covering this year's E3 after all for the mag I write for. Is anyone here planning to attend? Maybe we can arrange a High-Def Digest nerd meet up.

It's kind of fun and kind of isn't. I've been to E3 before, though I missed out on the "smaller" ones they had in the last few years, so this one should pretty much be the way I remember it at the convention center. It's cool seeing new games early. It's not so cool waiting 90 minutes to play them, and it's DEFINITELY not cool when some punk who clearly got in by being "hired" by website or game store for the 10 minutes required to get a press/trade pass asks you to take a photo of him standing beside some girls in Mithra ears and bikinis because "It's the only chance I'll ever have."
It also sucks when you realize you booked one press event within minutes of another one ending and that second press event is all the way on the other side of the convention center. -

You know what - on second thought, it sounds to much like work.
The only thing that will make it worse is if you have to shack up with someone else in your hotel room.
Still, I'm sure you will have a bit of fun in between the running around and being frustrated. Would definitely love to see some pics, though. -

I went to one E3 as press. The last big one, actually, in 2006. It's crazy... total sound/visual overload. They had like Crysis, Resistance, Heavenly Sword, God of War II, FF XII, the single-player version of Warhawk, Ass Creed, etc. etc. playable.
And I vividly remember how Nintendo drummed up that famous E3 line for Wii demos -- which was actually quite fake, because what they did was limit access to their demo area at exactly one spot and let in one person at a time. So of course this caused a huge line to form, while the MS and Sony areas were totally open and thus had no lines. So of course the media assumed it was because Wii was so sought after... and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1
