New Nintendo Portable Console to Feature 3D Display
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/24/te...4nintendo.html
would doubt the accuracy, but not sure WSJ would state rumors as fact.Nintendo jumped on the 3-D bandwagon Tuesday, saying the next generation of its DS handheld video game console would come with a 3-D display and go on sale within a year.
doesn't seem that have much faith in the DSi XL
*edit* it's legit apparently, all the major gaming news sites have articles now.Last edited by michealo; 03-23-2010 at 08:37 AM.

I hope they are not trying to pull off 3D using 2 screens that trick your brain into creating one 3D image..
In other words, a DS held sideways and the right distance from your head..
No, they wouldn't do that.. never mind..DarkRedRain (XBL, PSN, WiiU) -

:checks calendar:
Hmm... not April 1st....
If I were to guess, I would say they are layering one screen on top of another. I've seen a computer monitor in a store once that would do 3D that way and watched someone play a FPS. It wasn't a bad effect. I found a Samsung monitor that is similar.

Well it's confirmed by Nintendo all over now.
Really weird. Will show it off at E3.
I think by telling people this now, they can actually build up some press hype to watch their E3 Presentation, because the press has traditionally hated it for the pas 2 to 3 years.PSN: AverryXC

Viewing angle may still be a problem but with a handheld I dont think too many people will make a fuss. -

yeah I think lots of "3D" coming from everybody and his brother will be what I like to call "depth 3D" where you don't get any effect coming "out" of the screen, but only the effect of like a play on stage.
