Seperate 250 gig 360 HDD coming soon?

It looks like MS is replacing the 120 with it. May want to hold off on that FFXIII bundle, Jake.

Anyone dolefully eyeing up a Special Edition Super Elite Xbox 360 and its 250GB hard drive - but is already in possession of a perfectly functioning console - will be happy to learn that GameStop has started listing a seperate standalone 250GB HDD for sale.

The 250GB HDD was previously exclusive to Special Limited Xbox 360 Bundles such as the ones released for Forza 3, Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy XIII and the planned Splinter Cell: Conviction Special Edition.

What's more, the standalone HDD add-on is most reasonably priced at just $129.99. This seems like incredibly generous pricing given that the 120GB hard drive was previously tagged at £149.99. Either Microsoft has gone mad, or they're adopting a fresh, more benevolent outlook.

We'd personally plump for the former.

GameStop has a 23rd March date attached to the 250GB HDD.

I would buy a 250GB drive for $129. Especially if it comes with the transfer kit.

But, you can get 1tb for about $150 or less.

Yeah, they probably should have said "More reasonable".

That said, I might go for this. I only really use about half of my 120 though.

Hey if the 120GB go on clearance, I'd buy those up first. I would never run out of room with a 120. I only want more room to install games I am playing. I would remove them afterwards.

You'll probably start finding a lot of used models. Not too mention the inevitable Newegg clearance.

I would, unless you really want to spend $400 for a face plate. I would just put it towards more games.

i considered it, but was concerned MS would lock these devices out like the memory cards.

a 120GB on clearance will likely be in my future.

They wouldn't be able to without locking out legit owners. The method on creating a 360 harddrive uses a MS license.
