anybody beat god of war but not god of war 2?
I finished god of war last year and it was great. however I could not get into god of war 2 for some reason and I just couldn't finish it.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is in this situation as god of war 3 is coming out soon. I just read what happened in god of war 2 to prepare myself for three.Xbox 360 GT: TRANSAMF4N

You need to try and finish God of War II. How far did you get?
Because really, it's a superior game to the first in most ways imaginable.Don't Reach, Young Blood

Yup, unless one preferred the emo story of the first. I still haven't finished the first one after all these years, but GOWII was absolutely fantastic. So many memorable moments and the soundtrack is fantastic. It also looks much better especially if you play the PS3 one.

The story in the first one was better (2nd one is just REVENGE REVENGE REVENGE REVENGE, basically), but II is a better game.
You must finish this game. Don't be a dillweed.
Also, if you're not playing the God of War Collection version, shoot yourself in the face. Now. The visuals are soooooooooooo much better.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1

Probably because the second game by default runs at a slightly lower rendering resolution than the first. You can however use a higher resolution mode that's essentially 480p output with a 640x448 frame:
While the game boots, hold L1 + L2 + L3 + Square + Circle before the "SCEA Presents" message appears. If done correctly, the legal screen turn purple. The game will now appear in 480P high definition format, with full 640x448 buffers. To return to normal 480P format, use the options menu. Note: When playing the game in a PlayStation3, having the controller connected by a USB cable is recommended to have it ready to activate while the game boots. -

No, it's probably because the upscaler/smoother on his PS3 works when it runs in 480i, but not when it runs in 480p. That was documented a while ago.

Yeah, you didn't get very far. It's much better. The setpieces trump God of War in every way and the game is far more epic. I can agree that the characterization of Kratos was more one dimensional though compared to the first. If they could find a balance between the two, it would be great.
I like God of War I. But I replayed both through the Collection recently, and God of War feels a bit tiresome these days. Replaying through some of the events is a bit of a chore. But there are relatively few of those events in God of War II. It's so much better. You should keep trudging on, and I think you would come to the same opinion.Don't Reach, Young Blood
