Great quotes on the internet:
I hear Galaxy is brilliant, and it probably is. Just can't picture myself sitting down and playing it. That would take time away from watching the Disney Channel and working on my coloring book.Ryan Payton (MGS4 Associate Producer) -

There's as much drag racing in GT5 as there is NASCAR in Forza 4. If the content in a game is user-generated by means of the game or outside of its boundaries? It's not part of the game. You can photoshop a picture of yourself next to JFK, that doesn't mean you met JFK, does it?

I agree with your argument except that, while there isn't drag racing in GT5, there is certainly nascar. It has its own entire, non-imaginary, part of the game along with licensed tracks, cars, and Jeff Gordon. Cuco doesn't think highly of it, but it certainly exists without any use of the imagination.

GT5 does not have drag racing. Imaginary features are rejected for the purposes of board debates in discussing the features of the game. It's simply how it works and it serves both fairness and accuracy for everyone to play by those rules.
Two guys on the internet agreeing to meet on corner 12 and race from there to corner 13 on the nurburgring doesn't change that for the purposes of this discussion.Currently Playing: Uncharted 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword

Dave you're using the same logic Evo and Cuco used to defend non-existent "features" in Forza 4 months ago to argue a non-existent feature in GT5.
GT5 does not have drag races. You pretending it does have them is no different than evolone pretending Forza 4 has NASCAR, or cuco pretending Forza 4 has rally. It doesn't matter if there's only 20 foot-large section in a track, cuco can pretend there's plenty of rally in Forza 4 by that logic. As long as he drives within that section of the track there's TONS of rally in Forza 4 then.
Pretending something exists in the game by creating your own rules, does not mean that it's a part of the game. It means YOU found a way to manipulate the game's mechanics in your favor to create something within it that isn't actually a part of it, it's no different than adding logos on a stock car and pretending that the finished product is the equivalent of an actual NASCAR car in Forza 4. There isn't, but you can pretend there is all you want.Great quotes on the internet:

Back when I used to play Goldeneye on the N64, we used to have 'on one knee' races around the perimeter of the facility multiplayer map by crouching down and sliding around. We even had a line judge just in case of photo finishes.
That settles it - Goldeneye was actually a racing game and featured time trials. -

And I did not disagree with Cuco or Evolone when they said they could have pretend to have Nascar in Forza 4. The only contension was that Forza did not have official Nascar. I have the exact same argument with Drag racing in GT5. It's not an official feature but it is something you can do yourself....I'm curious why I had no problem admitting that for Forza 4 but for some reason the same logic applied to GT5 gets everybodies panties in a bunch.
I never said its part of the game. I said it is something you can do in the game. Again I'm suprised people are having a problem with that.
Again....I havent said it is different.
Cuco said it was not possible to drag race in GT5. I have shown that it is.....I havent said it is an official feature....but it is very possible to set up a race in GT5 that is no different at all from a drag race you will see on the street. Therefore drag racing is possible.PSN : DaveS1138
