Forza vs GT

I have a feeling this is a water tester for Forza 5 on the next xbox. With night and all the road conditions it has. Im gussing they will have a mixture of f4 and horizon. While Im not into arcade racers, Im hoping it is basically an imporved version of TDU of which I really enjoyed the first one.

It would of been a lot cooler if you could import your cars from forza 4 though.

I think you're right. T10 has been making a quality product for years now but cant break into, or approach, the GT levels of sales success. I think they're smart in perhaps tacking off on a bit of an alternative path to see if they can also scoop up some more arcade folks and find their sales success. People who want more sim oriented play will still have GT and numerous computer (niche lol) sims.

From what I have read the types of cars will be different between the games since this is far more street car orientated and needs cars that can drive on a variety of road conditions......however you will get cars unlocked if you have a saved game from Forza 4 depending on how much of the game you have completed.

I dont think this is so much a tester for Forza 5 as it is a direct head on assault on Need For Speed. They want a slice of that arcade racer pie and are going to use the Forza name to give them a foot in the door. A pretty good idea actually.

It will be interesting to see if Forza 5 does get a selection of the features it has been lacking for years and if it will require the next Xbox to get them or if they will put them on a 360.......I know Greenawalt says the 360 isnt capable of adding them but they also used to have only 8 cars on track and managed to double that without having to wait for next gen.

For anybody playing rounds 7 and 8 of GT Academy 2012 are now unlocked.
As expected round 8 includes Twin Ring Motegi's return to the series. I do think it was a good idea to have the final round on a new track that people playing the game heavily didn't have any extra advantage on....nice touch from PD



The 32 fastest players from the final round will win a trip to their regional finals.

Possible hints of a Gran Turismo Vita??? I really hope so. Especially given the inability to get GT:PSP working correctly on the Vita (it plays fine but you cant copy your saved game across so I lost 400+ cars I had purchased and a couple of years of progress )

I think it's amusingly ironic that they are going to sponsor a 24 hour race when 24 hour racing is one of the many features Forza doesn't have.

By your standard it does. You can simply run a bunch of races and add up the times. LOL Just like the driver swaps gt5 has or supported mulit-class racing.

No, 24 one hour races does not make one 24 hour race.....every time you stop one race and start the next you loose the positioning of all the cars on track, fuel level, tyre consumption etc....you also dont get any time shift in Forza 4 so every one of your 24 hours would be raced in daylight....you also dont get any dynamic weather (or in fact any weather at all) in Forza 4 so every one of your 24 hours is raced in the exact same dry weather.....

It is in no way a 24 hour race....

Driver swaps are perfectly possible in GT5. I posted a link previously of a 24 hour Nurburgring endurance race set up online at GTPlanet where you had 16 teams, each team had to be a minimum of 3 players, taking part in a full real time 24 hour race.....how is that not using driver swaps?

Wow.....GT Academy 2012 has now passed 1 Million unique entrants who have driven a combined 179 Million Km

(apparently the total player millage driven in GT5 is now over 58.5 Billion Km)

Just FYI there are only 4 days left for the competition. Even if your not going to post a qualifying time you can still enter to get the free DLC cars you earn by earning a gold trophy in each of the 5 sections for each round.
