Umm, it lets me download while I'm playing my games. Yes, it does. I'd understand it turning if off if I were actually MP gaming. That just makes sense.

Dedicated servers (Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone 2, Warhawk, Motorstorm, etc) > (FAR GREATER) P2P (Halo 3, Gears 1,2 , Forza 2, Project Gotham Racing 3, 4, etc)

When in 6 months those servers are disconnected...

P2P > Dedicated

XBL uses a combination of the two. Bascially, every game will always be able to be played online. You can't say that for the majority of Playstation Titles. Just look at all those PS2 games that were shut off.

6 months those are all going to be offline.. what did they put in those cheesburgers

Those XBL games = lag city, those PSN game = gaming lag free bliss (both using the same Comcast connection) And that it was quality gaming is about not dealing with laggy bullshit (which you are paying for. yet the vastly superior gameplay experience is free (of course I'd pay for PSN over live any day if I had to).

I get free online play from my PC, PS3 and Wii. From what I've used at my few friend's places that have Live, I wouldn't pay $50/year or w/e it is now for it. I have better things for that money like Amazon Prime

I'd rather have dedicated servers and play a game in the first 5 years of its existence than be one of a handful of people still playing a game 5 years after its been released.

It's a mild exaggeration. However, if you read the terms of service for most titles(Demon's Souls comes to mind), you'll see where it states that 6 months is pretty much all you're guaranteed.

I've had quite a few instances of lag on the PSN. It certainly isn't the lag free gaming some say it is. XBL is perfectly fine in this regard. No large complaints.

Mostly, my complaints stem from the Netcode on certain titles. Not the service.

Right. So, because the way you prefer the game, ww should limit those that WOULD play for 5+ years. Secondly, you're not guaranteed to even get that time. Metal Gear Solid 3 wasn't even out for 5 years before they axed the Online.

While you're playing your ONLINE games? Neither console lets you download while you're playing online games, you can download while you're playing offline/single-player games.

It also downloads when I turn my console "off". It goes into a lower power state, and tops it all off.

The PS3 doesn't do low-voltage downloading, that I agree with.

Not on the PS3. It's random in which games it'll allow it to occur with. So far, Tekken 6 has been the only game that allows this...that I've found.

Exactly.. I can still play launch PS3 games online fine. Somehow they all have survived beyond 6 months as well.
