Not on the PC!

It's slower, and not integrated very well. The system merely works on a game by game basis. XBL is across the board. It's all synced, and you can expect the same features in every game.

It just works better.

"Valve doesn't like Nvidia GPUs"

I still remember the pre-release statement of Gabe Newell.

"NVIDIA FX cards aren't real DX9 graphics cards. They are totally underpowered for it and that's why some essential graphic features of Half Life 2 will only be available on ATI cards. ATI, THE REAL WAY IT's MEANT TO BE PLAYED"

Something along those lines.
Yeah, but the FX cards sucked ass. Like really sucked. Everyone who gamed at the time knows this. ATI made the superior card.

I've never found PSN to be any slower than live with my downloads and my Wifi connection for my PS3 downloads slower than my cable connection for my 360. The only thing I don't like about PSN downloads are the installs, beyond that they're the same speed for me.

As for integration... the only things that make it "integrated" are cross-game invites and universal voice chat... that's it.

Doesn't the guy say that the xbl 'community' is better? He doesn't really say shit about the technical differences between them.

Did I miss something or..something?

Except MW2 where you can't party chat

I guess you're referring to Left 4 Dead 2. Well, my quip would have been, "Yeah, but Valve doesn't make the same game every other year." However, this being Left 4 Dead 2...I fail.

Though, I have a general disapproval for COD. Such an empty experience.

"told when to "expect" your next shit,"

Did you tell them when you ate a double cheeseburger at McDonalds? If so, I'd say expect it in about 30 minutes or less.

PSN is freaking random. Has always been. I guess you don't pay attention to the downloads, or something. Quest for Booty has been my worst experience, but it was still a bad experience.

XBL the longest it's ever taken me was 1 hour. That's it. That's the max anything has ever taken me on that service. I have a 15mb connection, and PSN sucks. It drives me bonkers. It's free, so I don't complain too much.

No. The service is all around better connected. XBL has integrated itself better. I have access to content, queues, and other things on the fly. It's faster, and smoother. The XMB menu is slow as molasses. Sure, it turns on but takes like a minute for it to "sync". What good is it being there if I can't click on anything.

Being able to download while playing would be nice. The only game I've managed to do that it is Tekken 6. If I play anything else my "integration" is severed. I also have to exit the game to install it...which can take another 10 or minutes.

The way Sony has everything setup reeks of the the "long, long ago".

XBL downloads and installs simultaneously. That's nice.

The comparison to a car is perfect. Yeah, it has mostly the same features, but it's not as nice. It's not as harmonious as the other. It's "performance" is lacking.

I can understand some of the "defense" for the PSN. As the PS3 for some people is there first Online console. A lot of people skipped the PS2 online. I know I did. It failed to draw me in with anything worth while. We don't need to mention the first Xbox sales. So, many will say it's "pretty good". However, I've experienced the Xband, the Dreamcast, the Xbox, and now these consoles. The PSN is rather dated and clumsily done. It's okay though. It's free.

I would totally have a higher number by my name if I didn't switch it at Launch. I didn't connect my former account together. I started from scratch.

Everyone, please refrain from responding to a thread in smackdown for at least a day even though that is what a forum is designed for. This way it will not appear as though you are up in arms or what ever to mid

The most I've ever spent downloading something was the near-hour and a half for the GOW3 demo which is 2.7 gigs, a 1 gig file from XBL takes me 20-25 minutes to download.

The XMB doesn't take a minute to load. To sync trophies it might, to load up? No. Funny because it takes me nearly an HOUR to recover my gamertag on someone else's 360, synching on my PS3 takes 20 minutes.

Online games do that, offline games don't. I've never had download pauses while I played offline/single-player games.

And yet I don't see it, I can see why someone would argue party chat and cross-game invites but I don't see a difference beyond those features on Live.

That's the one problem I have with PS3 downloads.

Wow valve thinks the live is better then the PSN. Who would have figured that the developer who refuses to attempt to program for the PS3, prefers live...

Like I said earlier there should be a Valve smackdown thread where all of valve comments go since they do make a lot of them.
