Should've said "main" culprits cited. I don't think their other divisions (particularly TV's and Sony Pictures) were all profitable without a hitch.

Game sales do include PSP and PS2 software, both of which are on the decline this quarter compared to last year.

On a side note, the strong Yen is certainly not helping any Japanese company nowadays. I dread to think how Panasonic is doing considering they lost the most last FY (IIRC over $4 billion)

You can have a superior product technically and even lower your price to match your competitor, but unless people actually want your product your not going to outsell your competition. Zune HD vs ITouch?

For $654 million, Microsoft can literally give away 3.2 million arcade units. But I'm not sure many here would consider that a successful business..

I just don't know how people can know if the PS3 is actually hurting Sony games division, unless they strictly limit numbers to PS3 sales and related sales. Same goes with the 360. Right now, I think Microsofts is possibly a more profitable model, but it's impossible to say that with any certitude.
