Little bit better of a demo than the first one posted here. Not as slow and clunky as people made it out to be. Being able to save netflix as a bookmark on the ps3 browser and within seconds, being able to add movies to the que is nice. HD videos are actually loading faster than SD, which is odd. Should have my disc in the mail, too..Havent checked yet. All in all, as someone thats been with netflix for a long, long time - it's not a bad addition to have while in between the blu-rays I get from them that also play on the PS3. Will certainly use it to stream more often than I've used our computers to stream movies with, thats for sure.

Upon first using this, it's pretty solid. Takes a while to update and shit, but once you're in the menus, runs smoothly...just a wee bit clunky, but nothing crazy.

First time playing a tv show, however, it took forever. But after that, they load very fast.

I never knew netflix only streamed 720p...sucks audio is only 2.0 DD.

That's probably my biggest problem. Also, it tends to get errors on occasion and causes "popping". If you worry about your speakers that's enough to be scared.

The video is good enough for a stream. It's certainly watchable. Though, I wish they'd label whether they have widescreen or full screen.

Yeah, I would be happy with simple DD 5.1 with HD video. Or hell, SD.
I mean, if you can stream HD, then I don't see how a okay 5.1 can't be possible. (But maybe it isn't?)

And I agree on the hole aspect ratio. I sit down to Watch dusk till dawn, seeing it uncut in widescreen on TV before (might of been IFC) I was disappointed to find out it was full screen from netflix.

Got mine today, I think its great. I haven't experienced any "lag" or clunkiness at all. Even watched a full HD movie with pauses rewinds and all, all smooth. Great pic quality even on SD stuff. It is truly a treat for me!

Very cool, but I was hoping XMB would still be active when on Netflix. Otherwise it works great, looking forward to the disc-free version next year.

Got my disc in today and this is horrible. Have to put the disc in every time to use the service..Just what I needed more use on a drive that has proven to have issues over longterm use...I am getting this weird video sliding sideways constantly issue and dropouts all over the place. I am watchig an episode of CSI (which is in HD on the 360) and it is CLEARLY scaled VERY poorly (so a SD stream not a HD one). The interface is very clunky and slow. Seems to be the same interface that my Roku and BD370 uses just slower and it looks horrible (very grainy and stretched on my front projector..the Roku, LG, and 360 don't do this). Overall this is a piss poor job of implementation for a machine that I keep being old is so amazingly powerful that I should get a second job and work overtime just to pay for one.

For those wondering about using the disc in a standalone Blu-ray player: me too, so I gave it a shot this afternoon.

It "boots," shows the Netflix title screen, goes through the loading process, then attempts to connect to the Netflix servers (my network status lights show actual activity). It eventually fails to connect, however, even on a properly configured BD-Live capable player.

So it's a standard BD, but they must be doing either some server-side device detection on Netflix' end or some mystical Java trickery on the BD to identify the player. My player's a Sony, so it's not just checking manufacturers.

man i it amazes me how people just complain.. i know some of u wasnt really complaing just giving constructive critisim on improvements netflix can make with the new streaming on ps3. i have a few things i would like for it to improve on but i think its a really great feature after just 1 day. we all know improvements will be made as time passes by lets give them a chance. i pay for 4 disc at a time plus blu-ray's so adding streaming is a great price im paying rather than the old days of wasting gas, paying $4 or $5 for just 1 movie, having to worry about late fees, not liking some movies and wanting my money back.. now i can stay home turn on my ps3 and just watch.. if i dont like the movie after a lil while just simply hit the stop button and move on to the next 1..

Ok I will break it down into small words for you. I got my disc in. I placed it into my PS3 and the entire experience was about as crappy as they could make it and still justify that it "works". I have 5 other devices in my house that stream Netflix (not counting PCs) and NONE of them have the issues that the PS3 did when I used it. This is all hardwired connections BTW no wireless.

Umm, Did I stand in a press conference holding a PS3 over my head and tell folks that they needed to get a second job to go buy one because it was the awesome force that could not be contained? Nope sure didn't. Was it a Sony guy? Yep sure was.. I have had a PS3 since release day. Guess that was because of how much I hated it.

I think the implementation is complete garbage to be honest and my point was that Sony's ads even today keep telling me that it does "everything".. well if this is how it does "everything" then they shouldn't have bothered even making the thing.

Not sure how my credibility is tarnished in the slightest by me stating my actual exposure to the product and giving my honest evaluation of the implementation of the topic being discusssed (Netflix on the PS3). I have purchased 3 PS3 units, 3 360 Units and 2 Wiis. I DO prefer the 360 overall as it fits MY use of the console needs that I have.

I don't "hate" any of the consoles and I have owned a TON of them over the years (ever since the 2600..yes I am dating myself) , I just think it is funny that a machine that is touted to "Does Everything" to release a product "update" that is this piss poor is a slap in the face when others have been doing the same thing with far less "hardware power" for a LOT longer and doing an exemplary job at it.

Obviously the product implementation and the units 'power' are not related. Works great for me. Between this, the Sony movie store, blu-rays and the industry's highest-rated exclusive games, yes...it pretty much does do 'everything'.

You seem pretty familiar with the forums here, yet you only have 4 posts, and 2 are in this thread, and 2 in another attacking. What was your name before you were banned last time?

Oh look, he was banned again for sock puppeting. LOL. Try not to make it so obvious next time eh?
