Yikes, maybe it's time to look for an alternate source and then cancel that order? I got a layaway at Future Shop (owned by Best Buy here in Canada), it may be worth inquiring if any units are in transit and putting down a deposit.

At this point, I hear the CE of Dragon Age is extremely difficult to find on the PS3 so it seems too risky to me although I've thought about it several times. The Best Buy ads here in the U.S. made no guarantees about having the CE for the PS3.

EA store is out, PS3 CE is about as hard to find as the Demon's Souls CE right about now. I'm gonna stick with Amazon in hopes it gets filled, its just insane though. You pre-order a game 5 months before release, you would expect it to actually get filled in a timely manner.

Heh, I kinda lucked into almost accidently getting the PS3 CE (Steelbook and all!)

Checked the 24 hour places at Midnight, they only had the 360 version. Checked Gamestop at 10am, they were waiting for the truck to show up with it, said it'd probably be 11 or 11:30.

So I go to Best Buy in the meantime, expecting they'd probably only have the 360 version like Walmart...with several of us waiting around for them to dig up copies in the back, as they hand out copies, I ask for the PS3 version, he goes back, and says "All we can find for the PS3 is the Collector's Editi-" at which point I stopped him by saying "I'll take it!"

I wouldn't get your hopes up on any credit. You say you've never bought from Amazon before but I buy most of my games from there and extreme delays are the norm as far as I've experienced. I wasn't playing Killzone 2 until 3 weeks after it's release date even tho I had my pre-order down months in advance and my PS3 Slim also arrived at my door around 3 weeks after I placed my initial order even tho it was in stock. My backlog of games keeps me from not having anything to play while I wait for my delivery so I'm ok with the delays because I save on average around $10 per title with the discount they usually offer and lack of tax.

Amazon better not screw up my MW2:Prestige Edition pre-order now that it seems to be sold out everywhere.

I've bought several games from amazon and gotten them all without a delay. Sometimes they have delivery date shipping - but I dont recall if that's extra or not. Back when I was working full time, and a game I needed day 1 came out on Tuesday, it was well worth it because I didn't have the time to sit in rush hour to get to a store and pickup the game. It was already waiting for me at home.

Yeah it's extra or you could pay for Amazon Prime and get unlimited free 2-day shipping. I however always use the free shipping option.

Amazon has come a long way in getting games to you on time. You used to be lucky to get them by Friday. I have Prime and usually get my games on Wednesday now though. The first couple of games they offered "Release Date Delivery" on missed the mark, but my last couple have arrived on Tuesday. I don't mind waiting a few days though, their prices are hard to beat.
