I don't mind the info ticker too much. The PS Store icons being everywhere, big ass font, and non transparent buddy list are the things I dislike. I also preferred the old start up sound. That's probably just me being a dillweed >.>

Well, it's just something that XBL shows you that PSN doesn't. Just was tossing it out there for comparison purposes. I don't consider it so much a nosey thing as either letting people know what your doing so they don't bother you, or so they can chat with you about it. I think the whole online community thing just invites nosiness.

At first I thought the NXE was a tad overwhelming, but now that I've memorized where every function is I have to say I prefer it over the XMB. XMB is a perfect design and easy to navigate without any reason for change, but the use of the party system alone in the NXE I think gives it the edge. Then again, that's when you're on the dashboard as you have to open up your guide, browse friends, and invite rather than just scrolling out of game... unlike the XMB where its the same exact thing in and out of game. So they both have their pros and cons.

It does only when you play a DVD movie or a Blu Ray movie. If you play movies out of the HDD or from a Disk (Blu ray or DVD) with video files it wont.
I think thats a useless function while watching movies anyways. People dont want disturbances while enjoying a movie. I hate that. Unless it happens during a movie like The Ring at the perfect time, and it is the first time I am watching it.
Now if someone can see that I am watching a movie then boo-fucking-hoo. Is that important? Either I appear online or offline in his friend list, when I watch a movie I am absent anyways. -

I prefer XMB. It's lean, it's fast, and it's easy to navigate. I still haven't figured out where everything is with NXE, I find it an eyesore, and really, when I consider the advantages that some people list...well, I don't use them. Kind of why I find Live a bad deal compared to PSN...the supposed superior features I never use.

I like NXE's style more but I hate waiting for my game library to populate so I voted for XMB.
