This is going to be the only thing I respond to. I don't want to get in a whole "debate" over this. So, I'm going to focus on this one little bit...

I perhaps could have worded my response to "Most MGS Fans", or the "Hardcore Defenders" or the "Int3rn3tZ FaN5"... or whatever those bunches should be labeled as.

Of course, there are the more level headed supporters (you and a bunch of my friends), they don't apply to my strict and narrow minded view of the "supporters". You don't go to review boards and post a "well, you just don't get it!" response. I've seen far too many of those. It's a lame defense.

It's not that MGS is hard to understand, actually, it is. Though, not because it's overly intellectual, but because it's told terribly. That is what makes it bad. So much of the game is "story" that for it to be told terribly is a huge negative on the game. I fail to see how something with so many narrative flaws and sloppy design choices can be herald as "high mark", or "high tier". It's totally undeserving of it's status.

I just had to put that last paragraph in there.

I survived the ApocalyPS3 because of FBI Agent Francis York Morgan. Just call him, York, everyone else does. Also, because of his Whistle Theme.

Regarding the last paragraph: MGS is hard to understand not because it's told terribly, but because it's terribly complicated. It IS a really, really complex/convoluted plot line, especially if the whole series is considered. Now, as to the contention that it's told "terribly" -- I think that is hyperbole. I thoroughly enjoy most of the way MGS is presented. MGS used atmosphere ingeniously to tell its story and was engaging throughout. MGS3's story and its presentation is among the best I've ever seen in games, undoubtedly. MGS4 was largely great, too, though the need for editing was probably the greatest there. MGS2 is the weak one, but even that had some great moments, such as the intro sequence of the Plant chapter. The reason people, such as I, say it's high tier is because it's among the very very few of its kind. Games don't typically go into this territory of Insane Anime Techno-Thriller, and I like that sort of thing. It may be bloated at times, but overall I relish participating in it and find the story engaging like few other games'. It makes me think -- most games do not. We can pick out examples of poor acting or poor editing all day long, but in the end I know the end result: the MGS story gets me excited for every new series installment, whereas most games' story feels like a nice afterthought.

I think it's partly complicated because the games fill in gaps that they create that didn't exist in the game before....basically making it up as they go along.

MGS4 was awesome, but I wont' delve into my issues with it.

Does anyone know where to find Sniper/Pistole, RPG, or Pistol/Grenade matches? I haven't find one of those since the beta. Do you have to play a certain MM type?

I have no friggin clue what we're up to tonight. Odds are I'll be on late (sometime around 11:30 or midnight). I'll have to brush up on my Third Eye Blind.
