I got a refurbed 60GB from GS once they went from 600 to 500. Has been going strong since I picked it up.

had 2 failures. My first ps3 60GB i bought June 2007, lasted until October 2007 (blu-ray drive failure). Sent in for warranty replacment and received a refurb, it lasted until August 2009, Yellow light of death. I ended up ripping it apart to retrieve my battlestar galactica disc and tossed the ps3 in the garbage...screw paying $150 to have them repair/replace it and only get a 3 month warranty.

My living room 40GB ps3 i've had since Feb. 2008...no problems so far...but its lightly used compaired to my bedroom setup.

Hoping i will have better luck with the ps3 slim i just ordered to replace my 60GB system.

A slim would probably pay for itself in electricity costs after a few months.

I've had 2 launch PS3's, one that has been running constantly, and one that I leave off. Haven't had any problems with either of them. Granted the PS3 I have on constantly is used mostly for movies/light gaming.

I purchased a 40 gig and the video went bad in about a week. Took it back and exchanged it and never had an issue until I sold it. Now I have a PS3 Slim and I am interested to see how reliable they are. I have also had 1 360 go bad but not RRoD.

only 2 YLoD Votes so far no where near the RRoD fiasco, and yes seems that the PS3 has had some drive issues but so has the 360 as well.

No one said it was... still, as of now, over 30% reported problems of some kind.. not exactly something to brag about..

60GB EU (partial BC) console - just over two years, BD drive failure. Still haven't decided what to do with the console yet.
