That's the kicker for me that makes me question this. Has Sony EVER done that with their consoles?

Not to say I'd be sad to the Spider Station Font go, but it's pretty unlikely they'd do it "in the middle of the game" as it were.

Yes. Fake. I also highly doubt they'd also swap out the nice glossy piano black for some 2 cent garbage looking plastic. This plastic doesn't even look as nice as the stuff they made the ps2s with

I think some people are getting a bit carried away on the plastic because of how crap the photos are.

Even the gloves and green workbench surface look nasty and grainy. The console itself could actually have a smooth surface without all the noise in the picture;

Making it it less tall wouldn't be the priority. Reducing the footprint would be. That mock-up doesn't reduce the footprint much, and it looks like ass, therefore it's fake. Also agree with the comments about the logo - it's not going to change.

If Sony actually made a slim form factor PS3, which they just said they have no plans to yesterday...it would likely be half that size. Their previous Slim models have been a drastic reduction in size. This one is not.
