I think sony was outselling eth 360 by about a 2:1 margin before the 360 price cut. Sales of eth 360 and PS3 oversea's are extremly close. 360 probably has retaken the lead but I realy don't think that is much to brag about when they had a 18 month head start. I suspect the 360 will outsell teh PS3 untill KZ2, or the PS3 pricecut if KZ2 turns out to be lackluster.

Then why do they only mention overall sales? Why not yearly sales? It seems to me, that at best, the data is inconclusive to say either Sony or MS "won" Europe.

That and the fact that this thread feels like every other thread right now. There are really only 2 types of threads going on right now (aside from the killzone 2 thread) and they're based off the following:

Games 2008: PS3 > 360 > Wii
Sales 2008: Wii > 360 > PS3

And we're basically seeing a showering of threads related to either of those, so the discussions have already been hashed out.

PS3 was 'winning' upto the second X360 price drop. Obviously beating the PS3 by an unspecified amount in the holidays is good news though. Or good PR. Maybe.

If at the *start* of 2008, someone had of said the X360 arcade will be cheaper than the Wii....it would've been interesting but doubted, yet their would be no doubt that the X360 would beat the Wii.
If at the *start* of 2008, someone had of said the X360 premium will be cheaper than the Wii.... it would've been ridiculed as bullshit and impossible, yet if we were to speculate what would happen we would've predicted the X360 absolutely tearing up the sales charts.

Well, the arcade did become cheaper than a Wii, and then so did the premium. And the best PR they have is they had a higher growth rate than the PS3 which is almost 150% more expensive than the arcade and 80% more expensive than the premium? Holy shit. No duh.

The pricecuts by every standard but the ones invented after the fact were abject failures.
