Side note, I'm kind of surprised LBP did that bad in Japan - that game was designed to do well in that market. Hell, that's even worse than an Atlus game like Persona 3.

I don't think the release of LBP was ever delayed in Japan. It's frankly just not getting to the Japanese public. Either people haven't heard of it, or people aren't willing to play it.

But do take into account that the 47k is without bundles according to some people who may or may not be reliable

I don't know, I thought they did include bundles. This game may be the 1st PS3 game with legs though, or It may vanish off the charts in 2 weeks like most other games.

Are japanese really that stubborn though as onslaught implies? When I'm going to buy a PS3 game full of awesome, the last thing I care about is where it was made. Do they actually think "a Euro studio made this, and they're encroaching on our platforming style that we haven't used decades" ??

I don't think it's exactly like that, but I just figure that when they think LBP, it would go through one ear and out the other. It's a subconscious thing. New IP's = Seem to equal moderate to low sales
