Default What are your Top Five Favorite Video Games of All Time?

The mood in the smackdown has gotten even more hostile then normal, lately. Therefore, in an attempt to lighten the mood, I would like to know what your five favorite video games of all time are?

Here are mine in no particular order:

Legend of Zelda- A Link to the Past- SNES
    Genghis Khan- NES
    FF VII- PSX
    Nobunaga’s Ambition- SNES
    Star Wars: KotOR- XBOX

Raid on Bungling Bay - C64
    Digger - IBM XT
    Hippodrome - C64, Arcade
    Wii sports (HA j/k)...

*Edit - I like these the best due to their significance growing up. I dont feel they hold a candle to something like GoW, MS, MGS, Halo, etc...

1.) Warcraft 2: On Kali.net in the 90's. Was in the top 10 on Case's ladder, before there were such things as video game competitions.
2.) Ultima Online: Probably the best PVP, PK game ever created, and still hasn't been beat to this day.
3.) World of Warcraft: Very fun quest game, very good raid game, has less "grinding" and treadmill features than other competitors such as Everquest, Vanguard, FF, etc.
4.) Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne : Though this was a great RTS game, though not anywhere near as good as 2nd was simply because of the lack of water maps, and the ability to build anywhere. This game just didn't have the same feel that the 2nd one had as well.
5.) Starflight: Truly an ingenious space combat/mystery/puzzle/exploration game.

There are so many, but for nostalgia and best times these are the 1's for Me

    1) New Zealand Story - PC Engine(TurboGrafx) was the closest version to the arcade, although the Megadrive version was still good
    2) Magical Flying Hat Adventure - Megadrive - Japanese platform game, awesome, although didnt help me through my GCSE studies in '91!
    3) Super Mario All Stars - SNES what a collection, Super Mario 1,2,3 and Lost Levels!
    4) Gauntlet - The memories of playing this when I was about 10 after Swimming with the school, the 1st real multi player game I ever played, the Xbox Live version is pretty cool!
    5) Super Monkey Ball - Gamecube, this made it all worthwhile for me importing a Gamecube (R.I.P LikSang) some many mini games, four player madness, this is what offline gaming was about, caning your mates when they came round!

Man I feel so old looking back at these games, this makes me consider buying a Wii just to get some of the PC Engine/SNES/Megadrive games again, although I do still have my SNES and Megadrive!
    Panasonic 32" 1080p 24p LCD, Multi Region Panasonic DMP-BD55, Panasonic PTAE4000 Projector
Xbox 360, PS3 (U.S), Wii, Denon Amp 7.1 THX EX

Oooh! I do love them countdowns.

    (1) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC)
    - Pretty much everything about the PC version of this game was awesome. The story, the world, the cars, the planes, the replay value. With a mouse, the shooting was fine, too, compared to the usual in GTA games. Awesome.
    (2) Resident Evil 4 (GC)
    - Who knew the best shooter of all time by far would come from the Resident Evil people? This is one of the few games where the story is stupid, but I just don't care. It looks too good, the core gameplay is too much fun, and there's just too much variety in this game for anything else to matter.
    (3) X-COM: UFO Defense (PC)
    - The fact that I still play this early 90s game gives you an idea of how shockingly ridiculously long-lasting it can be. The strategy layer is involving, and the tactics layer ensures that no two missions are EVER the same.
    (4) Final Fantasy VII (PS)
    - I wish I could somehow wipe my memory of ever having played this game so that I can experience it all over again.
    (5) Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GC)
    - The best kept secret in video games.

Honorable mentions: MGS3: Subsistence, Max Payne, Final Fantasy XII, Xenogears, Ace Combat 5, God of War I & II.
Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1
Speakers: Monitor Audio RS6 front, RSLCR center, R90 back, Elemental Design sub
    Consoles: Wii, GC+GBAP (digital), Xbox 360 S (250GB), PS3 (+320GB), GBA SP, PSP Slim
Set top boxes: Apple TV 160GB, Dish ViP722 HD DVR
    TV: Sony XBR2 46" 1080p LCD
    PS2 > 360 > PS3 > GameCube > Xbox > Wii (games)
    PS3 > 360 > Wii (overall)
    Blu-Ray > HD DVD

I believe you have Phantasy Star 2 confused with Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom.... the absolute worst game in the series. Phantasy Star 2 has quite possibly the best story in any RPG, and is the first time that a game's main character was abuptly killed without a chance to save her. Square stole this idea later with Aeris in their rip-off/combination of Phantasy Star 2 and Final Fantasy 3, titled Final Fantasy 7.

    Anyway, my top 5...

    1. Phantasy Star 2 (Genesis)
    2. Final Fantasy 3 (SNES)
    3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
    4. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSone/XBLA)
    5. Shining Force (Genesis)
