I normally wouldn't post any further in this context, but I do understand the sentiment.

When I first found this place last year, most of the debates were about games, consoles, and general gaming related topics.

As of late, I find the forum debating more about logic functions, and how the actual pieces, used to construct arguments, fit together.

It's a shift in the scope of debate - perhaps an acceptable one to some. I've just noticed that business around here is definitely different, and not very game-centric.

Yeah, and he was pretty much absent for an entire year.

Lmao sometimes I love how you come up with analogies for such terrible things

And you know, in that movie, what came out of those seeds created a ton of disruption and destroyed much of the world -- so it's a good analogy I suppose.

More likely he came here just to troll on Blu-ray and when the format war ended he popped up in the game forums.

HD-DVD vs Blu-ray so far:
1 - HD-DVD has more hardware sales
2 - HD-DVD has more software sales
3 - HD-DVD has average better ratings for the software released
4 - HD-DVD has higher profile movies released and coming oput than Blu-ray (according to data from IMDB.com)
5 - HD-DVD cost of entry is half the price of Blu-ray
6 - HD-DVD has working hybrid disks, which is a big selling point to wary adopters
7 - HD-DVD is a more recognizable, user friendly brand name than Blu-ray

HD-DVD vs Blu-ray moving forward:
1 - HD-DVD add on for Xbox 360 will be an easy way for 10 million people across the world to buy into HD-DVD with full intention of buying movies with their purchase.
2 - HD-DVD has more movies coming out
3 - Blu-ray reviews and quality will continue to increase, but likely won't surpass HD-DVD in picture quality of the actual movie
4 - HD-DVD will still have the more recognizable, user friendly brand name

Honestly, while PS3 will obviously spike Blu-ray sales - it'll be interesting to see just how much of a difference it really makes. It'll also be interesting to see how much of a spike HD-DVD gets with the 360 add on.

In any case, obviously Blu-ray has a *much* harder fight ahead of it than anyone predicted a year ago. HD-DVD has already solidly delivered on all fronts... Blu-ray is still proving itself. HD-DVD more affordable, and is delivering more. Clearly, one is a win for consumers, one isn't.

...let's see how long this trend continues...
Blu-ray predicted to win format war

I guess I was right. Wow, do a global search and replace on that post of "HD-DVD" to "Xbox 360" and "Blu-ray" to "PS3" and you have his entire 360 vs PS3 argument in a nutshell.

I like to think of him as Team Rocket (Giovanni). Leaves, comes back and is like a returning annoyance for the whole game/show.

In the end I think companies care about $$$ not percentage rates sold. On that note, how many mulit plat games did better on ps3 than 360?

Not many.... In fact that I know of I don't think there are any multi-plat games that actually outsold on 360 v. PS3... Perhaps I'm wrong though.
