Default Is this a good idea?

That idea, which just came to me, is simple and yet has not been thought of by the big 3 video game companies yet.

Basically it is this, we can all buy DLC games on every console now, but shouldn't we be able to rent them also?

Take Wipeout HD for example. Many people have said that 30 bucks is too much for a DLable game, so what if you could pay, say, 5 dollars to play the full game for 3 days. Now, I know many games have a demo, but sometimes that still isn't enough to gauge how much you will like a game.

Anyway, I'm just throwing this out there, but is it a good idea or not?

Finally a good thread tonight lol

I voted No, and here's why.

I'm becoming more and more firmly against DLC. Originally, DLC was a good idea used by game devs to continue developing new materials for older games. The lives of games were extended. Now, more and more, DLC seems to simply be crap that could have easily been included in the original game - or distributed for free. There are already examples of dlc where it was actually included on the disk.

Because of DLC being abused at an increasing rate, I don't want them to be trying to figure out more ways to charge us for it. If $30 is too much for wipeout hd, then $5 for a 3 day rental is definitely too much.

I am in favor of the proper use of DLC, however, such as decent games etc.

Not everyone can be those two...phew.

Anyhoo, I was merely being comical. Most of the threads tend to be rather bashing for the sake of it...this being smackdown and all.

I guess, if it makes "sense" it should be in the game room. HAHAHA!

Rofl, come to think about it, this is a game room topic. Maybe that's why I like the game room so much.

I was just throwing the 5 out there, it could be 3 for 3 days, or maybe 5 for 3 days, but if u like it, you can upgrade to the full game for 25 bucks so it equals out to 30.

Renting the games is a good idea.

How ever if you rent a game and like it you should be able to buy minus the renting fee but only if you buy it on the same day the rental runs out

Yes this would make a great OPTION for some people. If you are running low on space or have limited finances. Demo, Rent or Purchase, the more choices you have the better. I would probably not use it unless it is strictly for trophies or achievements.
