The ps3 has beaten the 360 most/all of this year and it will continue to do so.

But wait the ps3 is only beating it by 20,000 consoles a month! says the 360 fanboy.

With the upcoming price drop, I think, without a PS3 price-drop in the near-future... it's gonna get harder to overcome it, not easier.

considering the and are likely to sell another 80+ million consoles combined, a 6 million lead is certainly not insurmountable.

I guess one bit of speculation I do agree with is that when the 360 sales figures hit the ditch, the 720 will promptly be hinted at or announced.

When I first read the OP I thought maybe he was a 360 Fanboy using a sock puppet account to try to make PS3 Fans look bad. But, I'm not sure at this point.

The OP's post is pretty crappy, so, here's a good question.

What will MS do if the new universal price drop does nothing? Would MS actually get out of the market for good. I tihnk Sony would still muscle through given that they've had success in the industry, but MS has yet to still turn a profit for the whole division, so would they feel it is worth it?

They'll stick with it. The problem is Microsoft is going after the Wii's audience now, which is a bit of a joke. The Zune went after the iPod to no avail. At $199.99 Xbox 360 with a (rumored) motion controller and a faux Wii interface will fair no better. Anyone thinking the Arcade is any sort of competition to the Wii is kidding themselves.

It's questionable how many of the 360's core audience will "jump in" for a gimped-out $199 unit. Seeing how the core consists of hardcore online players, I can't imagine many.

On the high-end a $300 Premium already went against the $400 PS3 in July and Microsoft still lost by 20,000 units. The $400 Elite is still a rip-off against a $400 PS3 80GB.

So it all boils down to if Microsoft can bait and switch enough suckers into going into stores for the $199 Arcade and up-sell them to a Premium.

Rather poorly written fanboy thread... Mabye the PS3 will catch up.. Mabye it won't.

Do you have any support or evidence of your claim of the PS3 selling more?

The 360 has the price drop and plenty of solid exclusive games. I don't think there is much reason to believe PS3 will outsell the 360 much more than 20,000 a month.
