Default Should Sony Can PSP and just create PSP2

I keep hearing about piracy and PSP put together or great hardware sales and pitiful software sales etc.

Would you think it'd be smarter to announce PSP2 and slowly phase out PSP, maybe create a backwards capability for PSP so games will still run but on a emulated system so no firmware thingys are actually ran in PSP2

Personally, I just want a PSP2 with 2 analog sticks and better graphics.

Yeah, and the biggest selling game is at 2 million. Not a great number there either.

Yes and it's a great console. You've got the Capcom Anthologies, SNK regular and Metal Slug one, the EA one, Twinbee Portable(anthology), Parodius Portable(another one), Gradius Portable(another), Salamander Portable(another), Genso Suikoden 1 and 2, Megaman Powered Up, Megaman Maverick Hunter, Dracula X Rondo Of Blood, DJ Max Portable, etc. I mean are you kidding me?!

I don't think anyone is trying to prove that the PSP is anywhere near as successful as the DS, but it's definitely not as grim as you are making it out to be.
I count 5 games above or near 2 million in sales, with GTA Libery City Stories selling 5 million copies.

And none of them sold for shit in relation to how many people are out there with the system to play it.

All I'm saying is that when you and your competitor release a product in the same year (PSP vs NDS) and your competitor outsells you 2 to 1, you may want to rethink you're strategy. Add in that the biggest NDS game sold 20 million while yours is at 2 million and obviously people are not using your device so much.

What this leads to is developers and publishers moving away from your device because the guys with 70+ million users are cheaper to make games for and sell better.

The PSP is second in a two man race, where I come from, that is called losing.

nah, PSP is still selling reasonably well and is still an awesome machine. PSP2 will come out in due time though. Maybe 2 years from now. For now they will just keep releasing small tweaks like the mic update on the upcoming 3000 series model.

I'm sorry but I'll say it. The PSP has BETTER games on it imo. Maybe because of the fact no one can just jump to the touchscreen and perhaps have more gimmicky crap games because of it. I'm sorry but I can think of few games that are like, MAN I've gotta grab a DS for it.
Just being able to get "Princess Crown" on PSP instead of a complete ripoff price on the Saturn is a HUGE deal for me. Also being able to play "Black Tiger" for home is as well. I just wish the Capcom anthology games came with full on WiFi online. I think one of my big complaints is some devs. don't know how to program for it properly or do a half-assed job. Here "Gradius Portable" comes to mind. It has a TON of loading that shouldn't be there to begin with. This isn't a graphically demanding game.
