Default Valve Didn't Abandon TF2(360) After All

I wondered why we have not seen any updates for Team Fortress 2 on the 360 since Steam has been getting all the achievement/weapon upgrades with no mention of anything on the 360. Well it sounds like Valve was just biding their time:

Quote:
Owners of the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 will be scarfing down sandviches and delivering payloads later this year, as Valve is finally bringing all the updates delivered via Steam to the Xbox Live Marketplace. That means new, class-specific Achievements, new unlockable weapons for the Pyro, Medic and Heavy, new gameplay modes and new maps, all on your Xbox 360.

Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi got that piece of business out of the way just before our latest Left 4 Dead demo, saying that the developer wanted to build up a massive update for Xbox 360 users before delivering. Given that Valve is being forced to charge for the update, they wanted to ensure that 360 owners were getting their money's worth
Make sense since developers are only allowed a few free updates to their games, and then they have to pay MS fees if they want more. Nine individual class updates would probably cost Valve.

And to make this smackdown worthy, how about that "inferior" PS3 version update:
Quote:
So, how much? The price isn't final, but Valve is hoping to go as low as possible, aiming for a ten dollar price tag. Not too shabby. Sorry, PS3 owners, no word on when or if Valve will be giving you the same Team Fortress 2 updates.
Poor PS3 owners... if only Valve actually made your port instead of some team EA slapped together.

Actually, I'd rather EA just get the go-ahead from Valve to release the PS3 updates (if that's what needs to be done). I don't want Valve working on a PS3 game, they don't know what they're doing and are in over their head in that realm.

Hillarious how Valve are likely to drop PC gaming (like everyone else), and head to consoles, and yet support the console that's on life support.

Not a great way to run your company. But then with Gabe Newell being a ex-Microsoft cronie, I don't really expect anything less. I wouldn't be suprised if Microsoft bought them out a couple of days before they file for bankrupcy..

Like anyone is playing TF2 on the consoles anyway. I sat in on a couple of TF2 games on the 360 when it first came out and it was a disorganized mess.

Maybe not life support, but certainly Hospice. It is being eased, ever so gently and compassionately, to it's ultimate demise by it's supporters.

Besides, John Carmack believes in the power of the PS3 and is quoted as saying how it is in for the marathon as opposed to the short-sighted sprint of MS.

Who is valve, anyways?

Yes, because they loose so much money on Steam, I don't understand why they are in the PC market at all now. What a bunch of sore losers.

PC gaming is dying yo! Everyone abandon ship!

Steam is the most successful online gaming distribution service in history with over 15 million users currently. And Valve is going to abandon PC gaming....lmao, dude, I need some of whatever you're on.

I'm a Sony fan and I'm finding this hilarious!
