Default Sony reveals Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 160GB PS3

Well, color us surprised! Here we have yet another "limited edition" PlayStation 3 bundle, this time with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune packed in alongside a PlayStation Network voucher for PAIN, a DualShock 3 wireless controller and... a 160GB PS3 console? Yep, Sony's formally introducing us to the new king, which will start shipping to North America this November in the aforementioned kit for $499.99. Curiously, there's no word as to whether it'll be released separate from the bundle (we're guessing yes), and there's no mention of PS2 backwards compatibility (so don't count on it). In related news, the "new" $399.99 80GB version is finally shipping to retailers, so you should be able to snap one up in the very, very near future.
Well well well!

Why not drop the extra money spent on the larger hd and put it towards the BC chips?

Of course it doesn't matter if you're MS producing 3 at any one time.....

I don't know... I put a 320GB (250GB usable in XMB/10GB usable in Linux) in mine and I've got it 2/3 full. All my music, TV shows, movies, photos... that stuff takes up space. And the PS3 is great for that stuff.

They've been consistent at least. Sony has been constantly changing them. They don't understand that it confuses the hell out of normal consumers that don't frequent video game forums. Keep in mind we're in the minority by a long shot as far as console buyers go.

well not on this site... no. at least from the smackdown boards wise that makes sense. the ps3 boys would bust on MS for having multiple skus, and talk about how the ps3 with only the 40 was the way to do it, after the 20 and 60 were gone.... then it was the 80... then what? was it supposed to be 80 only? but now they have the 160....

it's good for the boards. i think they're doing it for us.

Sony said that because of the economy and all, it's a bit tough to have a price drop and that bundles would be the temporary solution.

It's getting a bit old though.

Sounds like a good idea and I'd like to see more of it on both sides. Packaging games with the consoles IMO is a good way to sell systems.

However bumping the HD to 160gb is just en e-penis thing against MS and the 120gb Elite.

It's superfluous on the PS3 that can have the HD upgraded for rather cheap anyways.

When was the talk that 1 squ was the way to go? When the 20 gig was phased out people wanted a cheaper PS3, when the 80 gig was phased out people wanted to spend more on BC.
